You know, the only sunny windowsill I have that isn't over a radiator or too precarious to put plants on (because clients have to walk *right* by it) is covered in lever arch files. Hmmm. Might have to change things round next year!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

We,re making shortbread, part of the buy less, cook more strategy.
In oven, 50mins we get the results........
Fingers crossed!
Done a batch pesto too, which I know she will eye with suspicion - but I've done it with basil this time, reduced parmesan (got another 3 packets half price) I'll await her tasting and see how much more cheese to add, this batch made with walnuts again, nice and cold pressed rapeseed. But I'm guessing quantities. Looks right, just need taste tester, she's home later.
Kc good plan for next year with that windowsillTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning
catching up again! My basil seems to be surviving at the moment, I'm lucky that I have a deep window ledge in my kitchen, so can grow lots of stuff there, and have a little glass shelf halfway up the window that I can grow things on too.
Price of things can be so odd. I went to local market on Friday and bought a bag of salad for £2 - not *salad* like you get in supermarkets, but a BIG bag, with lettuce about a pound of tomatoes, half a cucumber, spring onions, cress and a couple of peppers. Now I call that quite bargainous. Also got little orange things, and some apples and bananas, for £1.50 the lot.
It's gone a bit cold here today, but then again it was 28C yesterday!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hey up giligan - interesting window shelf, how did you fix that?
Markets are great, we have a farmers one here once a month quite little.
That bag of salad sounds ace.
Cold but bright here, yesterday was imposing and heavy grey. Rather ambitiously got washing out.
Hope you enjoy your Sunday.

Shortbread out and looks like a winner. Recipe (jamie) not cheap (a whole block of butter) £1.25 (eek) might try half and half next time. But saves buying bikkies even though they'd be cheaper and ds goes up the track munching on something each morning so at least he will have something homemade. Another one for his 'book of stolen recipes' he informs me. Ace.
He's doing brownies in a bit too, but as these are made maybe he should wait?Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hi Pippi - THANKYOU, you have given me a great idea. I was laughing at the thought of 'frog in a bog verte' for brekkie, then quickly got round to thinking what a great idea 'frog in a bog verte' for breakfast was ....:) Then I thought as DP and I have a 'hot date' :kisses2: booked for next Saturday morning to watch the England v France rugby match, I could do it for that. however, we've tasks and commitments either side of the match, so unfortunately I'd not have time to prepare/cook it. HOWEVER, it has now morphed into veggie sausage sarnies, on HM bread (which can be made in advance) and in keeping with a theme (given our opponents), I'll make some olive bread, possibly with caramelised onion mayo too - ta Pippi, I love it when people plant seeds of thought in my head!
I think the plants as wedding gifts is a great idea. Fruit trees have traditionally been given for births/christening anyway - with a 'pear for an heir'. I remember giving a friend an apple tree for the christening of her first girl and a cherry for her second. The apple tree got very disgusting looks from the rest of the assembled guests - who had all brought along the arbitary 'normal' gifts, but my friend had expressed interest in establishing a (very small) orchard of fruit trees and was thrilled with both gifts which would grow with her children in the garden of the house that they'd built.
Anyway, better go and make lunch - hope everyone has a great Sunday.

KC bingo win was just a social thing though we haven't been for at least a year.
I also used to love when we could all win money on line on dfw bingo sites. i never joined when it first started so i never did get as much out of it as everyone else but i did get something which was helpful when i was at my worst0 -
You're right about the *all* of us - pretending to socialise so we didn't get banned  and of course it was almost entirely each other that we socialised with  thank heavens for people who kept their usernames stable (I never did) it helped a lot :rotfl:
And how lovely to be able to do it for fun!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
What fun indeed
I never did it, dunno why, pesky phd, probably.
Greying good stuff on the morphed brekkieI feel less than inspirational at the mo (think I'm having an emotional crisis, well another one on top of my normal daily ones....!) so thank you.
I'm hoping our forever garden will have a good life orchard. Which is why I think wedding trees might make it 'ours' rather than mine.
Iyswim.
All hens cleaned out and rebedded, old byre cleared too *phew*
We appear to have two bogof medium sized kittens with our barn cats, I'm not complaining. Not at all, curious though.
Moved a huge pile of gravel more to do trying to get it spread out for when it's really wet out there.
Weeded veg garden not that it takes long, it's totsy. Finished the gravel stones from beach behind it too.
In for lunch, a bowl of mushy peas, I know, revolting but I love themTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Erm ... I don't follow, sorry - you need the gravel to dry out?
