Good grief, that petrol is **horrendous** ... I don't know how you manage, Pippi, I really don't.
I'm concerned at the contents of your sandwich last night - you *ate* a member of mse, Flying Friesian?
Okay, I know it was fish fingers, but I couldn't resist :j
Hope the day is a you know what one :money:
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Congratulations, Pippi!!! (And Kittikins
)
I'm glad you spoiled yourself a tiny wee bit - hope you slept properly, and the cold germs are under control.
Hey up me duck - thank you - nice to see everyone having a picnic on here yesterday
I'm a bit bleurghish but nowt a good old dose of lemsip won't sort outI did feel very decadent paying full price for a couple things and a magazine, well two
I hope you're good - may try and limp around diaries later - I'm snozzleheaded at the moment.
I've also a car full of impromptu veg to empty (picked a bit for my class) and might make some soup - this is mother and son day - he's asked to learn to bake brownies for a field trip this afternoon he's got - to keep the troops morals up.
I think its nice he's wanting to learn to bake as well as cook and its so lovely to not say 'not now' and instead say 'right when will we do that......'
He'll leave at least able to feed himself when he goes.:A
(and budget)
KC eta - lol poor FF, I'll change it to !!!!!!can't eat an mse'r
Petrol - I know even combining work/journeys/appointments etc its a bit eeksome but we've had two visitors this month and I looked after both a couple of dogs and a cat so I've done alot of running about the place
(Both pet sitting folk left a lovely tesco voucher for me - which covered most of that petrol)
Even still I need to really figure out 'how' to work it in future - its crazy.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Yay! Well done Pippi! :j:jGlad it's finally out of your hair - and how did you manage to get so much done in spite of being so full of cold? Hope you feel better today.
KK, enjoy having the money! :j Hope he keeps it up!
GV, what's wrong with pointing out that you already told them several times you can't do that? You're too polite my dear!0 -
Big congratulations Pippi. I bet you feel very light this morning so might need extra rocks in those pockets. What a lovely way to spend the morning with DS. He is going to be the envy of all the men at uni when ALL the girls want to be at his flat because he is good looking, can cook, can budget and knows how to entertain them with style. You are really setting him up for a fantastic life.
Should be working <yawn>
PS - re the dog and cat sitting. When I used somebody last year she had to travel about 20 mins from other side of main town. She charged me extra to allow for the petrol £20 per hour instead of £15. I know it was more expensive but I liked her, Moo liked her and she was reliable so I was prepared to pay. Just somthing to bear in mind. If you are making special trips perhaps you could add an expense allowance. If you are clear why most people will accept it. All the Animal Aunt type companies charge for travel and food expenses. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Bleurgh to snotty noses pippi, hope you're feeling better soon. Another fish finger sandwich should help0

DD has asked for fish fingers for tea tonight. although what she actually wants is "round fish cut up into fingers like daddy makes" (we didn't have fish fingers one night so DH cooked fish cakes and cut one into strips for her to make fingers) :rotfl:
hope you are feeling better soon Pippi. enjoy baking with DS. He will be such a catch when he leaves home. You'll be fighting the girls off him with sticksGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hey up gals - MrsM thats something to think about
thank you - extra rocks indeed - winds getting higher eek - the cat sitting is in return for hen sitting so our petrol will even out the dog sitting is for a chum who's always very sweet and generous but everyone's wary about petrol up here which is why I think she gave me more than normal.
Brownies out the oven (that recipe is so easy), sausage sandwiches (not !!!!!! but nice) consumed and coffee drunk - thinking about the day ahead.
(put a well known baking marg into the brownie instead of butter - give the price of butter £1.20 for a block, whereas the baking stuff was 70p - we're all cutting back a bit in areas aren't we? - not used it for ages but now for baking I think I have to, whereas before I'd normally use butter)
Retreived random veg assortment from car whilst tethered to the door (!) (leeks, onions, tomatoes, courgettes, kale, tatties and garlic) and made a leek and tattie soup which no one but me will eat - why do I bother growing much? Hey ho all the more for me - next time make the soup when no one looking!
I am glad he's learnig to cook - thats a good skill to have
Thesis or lack of it feels wierd = I did talk to cheery about that - she reckons that feeling stays for a while which is what trog (hello!) and others have said................................(hello others!)
Very funny starnac, your dd cracks me up all the time - love it when they are that age.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning all...well done on the baking Pippi and DS...sounds yummy!
Don't worry Pippi, I didn't think you were nagging me, but I too wonder whether I should be asking for more, but it's often a case of whther I really want the work or not, after all, less money is still some money!!
Have sent DH off this morning all packed up for his camping trip to Norfolk. It's an Autumn Equinox Star Party, so the car was full of telescopes as well as normal camping stuff. The big telescope (7.5 feet long!) even has it's own tent :rotfl:He'll be back on Sunday, so it will be odd without him. Mind you, I have a busy weekend unusually, so will have no time to miss him (much!).
I have been printing off the work I have already done for the craft centre, meeting the boss today. She is taking me out for lunch, so looking forward to itI am quite pleased, as it looks like I've actually done something! Only 5 hours a week didn't seem much, but there was lots to do at the beginning!
Right, need to go, have a lovely day everyone. x

Hi all
I've prised myself off the sofa and can move but not with any real speed:j. I get the results in two weeks apparently. Thanks for the sympathy folks. I needed it last night.
The dog has just been to the vet for a check up but is apparently a fine healthy dog for her age (13 1/2) thank goodness:D
Pippi, I hope you feel better soon although the weather can't be helping. It must be a relief to get the thesis out of the way though.
Despite looking odd my 'black cherry' tomatoes do taste nice although my Mum described their appearance as ' a bit off putting'.
I'm off for a cuppa but will stagger back later0 -
congratulations Pippi on gettting the thesis approved yay!
Hope the cold starts to clear soon.
Keiss heating on in October???? I'll try to push ours as far into November as possible but then i'm mean lol0
