Can you lob some carrot cake to Wales? The seeded batch sounds good too. Nice chunk of cheese in the fridge that might go with it.

    Earl Grey anybody?

Yummy ... I can contribute some lovely sheeps milk cheese, and some nice olivio spread .....

Keiss? ..... remember that it probably won't be the first time she's spent money like this on an outfit .... and that in that sense, its probably more important to you than it is to her. Thats not meant to be !!!!!y, its just the amount of time you've been worrying about it, and trying to contact her - if she's been busy, she just hasn't had time to get back to you.

  • Hi all
Just a quick rant. Just had my mammogram, the having your boobs squished bit wasn't fun but ok. However they do 4 views, 2 front and two from the side. No doubt it is important to them how I stand whilst it's done but after the 4th 'keep your hips and back straight' instruction I was biting back 'remember when I told you at the outset that I can't do that because my spine and leg are twisted, which part of this did you have difficulty with ?'. At least it's not as bad as the flaming bone density scan. They are obsessed with you being straight as well. I pointed out that I'm not, that got me tied down with leather straps and sandbags for my trouble. My GP said some people pay good money for that sort of thing, trouble is I'm not one of them.
Rant over, Mammogram is a necessary evil as tecnically I'm at a higher risk than most. Of for a cuppa ,some painkillers and nice lie down. If I'm not back in 48 hours I stuck on the sofa !

Oh dear, but it did make me chuckle!

Reminded me of many years ago when I worked for a Housing Association, and we put in the staff suggestion scheme that we should join forces with a local 'lady of the night' once we heard that men paid her for her to *ahem* 'abuse' them while they scrubbed her floors by hand.

They never took us up on it though, wonder why not?

  • Keiss - just another thing in the mix re this knitted coat thing. No matter what the price, is it a cost effective use of your time? Have you any idea how long it will take to make, and what the hourly rate would work out at?

Rang this evening, but still no answer, perhaps she is away.

I reckon it will take 25 to 30 hours (at least) to complete, so asking for £300 will give me approx £10 an hour, not too bad a rate. Ofcourse, if it takes longer than that, I am getting les per hour. :o This is why I originally though of charging by the hour, but then no-one will know how much it is likely to cost until I have finished!!

Anyway, not going to let this get me down anymore. If she does get in touch eventually all well and good. I have plenty to do to keep me occupied in the meantime. I just thought it would be a good project to give me a decent amount of money, and for
    just knitting!!!

Need to sort out what I have done so far for the craft centre...being taken out for lunch by my new boss tomorrow, so looking forward to that. :D

The bread has turned out really well again, and the carrot cake is devine!! It is a Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall recipe...the only one I could find that didn't use orange...I didn't have any so it was perfect. DS1 complained is wasn't sweet enough...except some of the sides where the drizzled honey had collected...so I handed him the pot of honey to add more!!! I followed the recipe exactly, but might want to tweak it next time, by adding a bit of cinnamon at least...if not some orange..:D

Right, must get things sorted for tomorrow.

Have a good evening everyone...and tomorrow too as I probably won't be back until toorrow evening.

thanks for the advice about the west facing garden has been taken on board so i now know i'm looking for a south - westerly back garden. ours is ok for mornings but i'm not really fit for it in the morning i can see we'd get more use from a garden if we had the sun in the afternoon to evening.
