silly daddy indeed. typical male though. half a job done. tell him that of course you don't mind going to pick up your babies from the airport but as you have the extra expense and he saves on the second flight then he should pay for your petrol. that sounds fair to me.

    when are they due back?

    Hi all
    Not caught up yet

Inbetween sessions at the moment at work!

Silly daddy indeed, spoke to him this am with EXACT costings for going down south, not exactly happy with £200 chucked in my bank and their flight time, its between £275-330 to get down the road and come back before any food (lodgings are free due to OH flat or chums with cumfy sofas for me to kip on). He didn't seem very pleased, do I CARE? I'm utterly fed up picking up the financial peices of that one. Either he can pay up properly and ask me nicely or I'll be at the local airport instead. Oh my lord, is the worm turning? Amazing knowing how much things actually costs and how it motivates you, before I would have been happy with any bone he threw me and mop up the spills, but not anymore...........although of course I won't see them both stuck at the airport 'south' but I can at least attempt reason from him.

Two bald tyres, how did that happen? I suspect chickens been out sharpening their beeks on them.......Got a quote for £38+vat each for fitting later - that seems quite reasonable

making recycled tie snakes (fill with sand as toys or door draft excluders) and recycling socks into random creatures we're calling 'voles' as we've an endemic one here! Lol, the things you do in the name of charities?!

If fact if I've not pushed 'list' on ebay by tonight can someone kick my ********

And, breathe, sorry, Silly daddy has me very wound up!

Banks all fine, still have £5 in fat controller :)

An extra £200 in the other account, making that £231, lol, but that money will probably not stay, so it doesn't need spent.

i think you did right to tell him exactly how much it costs. He either doesn't know or doesn't care if he thinks £200 will keep you quiet. good for you

Well done on setting out the costs to the prat Pippi...and getting money off him! :T

Good deal with the tyres too. Have a good walk with Peedie, do you have a windy day today? Breezy but warm here.

Managed to get some weeding done this morning ...only a couple of hours, but I can hardly move my arms now!!! Cleared away the broad beans as they are all done now and weeded the bed. Left the roots to rot down and release their nitrogen. Not sure what to sow there...some lettuces perhaps and could I have a go with carrots do you think??

Got another couple of veg beds weeded and also weeded round the rasps, which are fruiting nicely. A bit surprised as they were cut back and moved earlier in the year. They are Autimn Bliss, so like their new home obviously.

Got DS2 to move out all the plants in the conservatory for their summer holiday outside. Hosed everything down...a few had whitefly, so hopefully this will get rid of them.

I was going to wash down all the conservatory windowsills before lunch, but arms sooo sore, so will leave them for later :D. Going to do some sewing this afternoon....got to get started making things to sell...as well as do a couple of projects for my quilting group.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. At least it was wet and horrible whilst I was laid up and therefore I felt less guilty about not doing anything in the garden. Pippi , I can well understand your frustration at 'silly Daddy' . The offer to send the girlds round to chat to him still stands.
The rain here has just been absolutely torrential again, still ne need to water the tubs for a day or two.
My side path gets really soggy and when i let the dog out at dusk the other night I felt my foot brush against something. Closer inspection revealed a frog lying on its back. I thought I'd killed the poor thing but when i let the dog back in I found a torch to attempt further assessment of the frogs health. Despite lying on its back the minute I shone the light on it it turned over and hopped off a bit sharpish . Phew.
