No she hasn't. Can she still get this done even though they are not persuing the case?"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

Hi,
I'm really upset to hear she's been treated like this and now feeling like the system is letting her down. Can I ask what area she is in? (I work for a women's aid so may be able to help0 -

Have sent you a PM."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

yes , she shouldnt have to fight for it, she is in danger.
I will quickly tell my side, my oh beat me and strangled me, police found me naked and unconsious. soco photod me and the house, 8 months of HELL later and 3 court appearences he got a 50 pound fine, so when your friend says she wishes she had not called them I understand what she means. i have had to move 3 times, change my name, etc, as if im the criminal. the system lets us down badly, and i know i dont trust the police one bit after seeing how things are handled. sorry if this upsets.
your friend should look up the freedom project, it changed my life . she shouldnt be alone, this man will manipulate her to get her to back down, and will keep trying tactics til he finds one that works.Frugal living challenge 2011

Years ago my friend suffered domestic violence. She had refused to have her husband charged. Things went way too far one night and it was like a lightbulb moment. She wouldn't go to the police initially but did go and see her gp.
The gp recommended she contact the domestic abuse and violence unit at a local police station. After a bit of persuasion she arranged to go down there and make a statement. She was interviewed by women police officers. She was told she could tell them anything, she wasn't rushed. Whilst she was talking the officer was filling out a form on the computer. At the end of it all she was advised that she was at their highest level of risk and that her house could be put on immediate response. So that if anything happened and she dailed 999 and gave that address there would be a very fast response.
I am amazed that none of this was offered to your boss when her husband was originally arrested. The officers saw what he was capable of afterall.0 -

I was a volunteer with VS for a year although we ran an appointment system someone should come in an emergency.
You said your friend has seen her GP, if she's going to make a claim for Criminal Injuries, and she should, she needs to see her Gp twice in the first 6wks.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Frugalista Have pm'd u
Ok I am gonna have to stick up for WA now - most women's aid's are run out of refuges - they do not have an 'open house system' - they should however have taken this seriously and given appropriate and helpful advice for now over the phone and suported her to make appropriate referrals for immediate help (hopefully my pm has given this)
She needs an IDVA (independant Domestic Violence Advocate) not all WA's have this and they do not operate in all areas (again this advice should have been given)
Frugalista hopefully the info that has now been offered will be of some help0
