    Morning!

Busy, busy day yesterday. I took the car into the garage first thing for its MOT and left it there to walk back to the office in the pouring rain. I must have looked great :( Anyway, I had a good morning there and enjoyed it (again). I did get the impression that people were a bit tentative though. I did wonder if they thought they had overstepped the mark with the transfer. It seems the vacancy is going to be advertised and I am going to have to apply along with "et al" - Here we go again. It seems it is just not meant to be with this company, but I WILL persevere.

I picked the car up in the afternoon and it sailed through the MOT!!!! :D It is nearly 9 years old but it looks great and drives really well. I have only done 4000 miles in the last year, I couldn't believe it. I will have to look at the economics of keeping a car if I do get a job locally. It seems a lot to pay out, but I would miss it like mad, I know. I have had this car for 6 and a half years.

I had a lovely meal courtesy of the HA last night. It was a 46 mile drive, but worth it and the food was delicous. I dont think I will eat for a couple of days. MrT was very indignant that I HAD GONE OUT in the evening, especially when I returned home smelling of food. Definitely not allowed in his book....

On the way to dropping the car off yesterday I had to stop at some traffic lights. I saw Mrs Fatty outside a local sweet shop - lo and behold 2 young boys came out and she walked off with them. No sign of daughter and nowhere near a school. This was about 8.30am - it is just getting weirder and weirder. I have had another email from Council Boss Man and he has spoken to the PCSO who visited me and they are keeping an eye on everything.

Keep you fingers crossed for me everone. If there are no encouraging noises this week regarding a transfer I think it will be back to the drawing board and looking elsewhere for a full time position. As well as the extra money, I could do with keeping occupied for 5 days a week.

Speak soon, have a good day everyone.

Morning, SA. Good news about the car - what a relief! It's always a bit worrying while you're waiting to hear, isn't it? Here, they test cars every two years instead of evey year.

Don't like the sound one bit of Mrs F outside a sweetshop. Maybe the CPSO should go and talk to the shopkeeper to see how often she is there and who with.

The meal sounds good. Was there no chance of a doggy bag?

Hope the job situation gets sorted. Did you hear anything back from the vet? Keep on looking - the right thing will turn up. Keep on plodding, as Beanielou would say.

Saw on Horace's diary that you were about to post on yours ... so I am sitting here tapping my fingers on the desk in eager anticipation. :D No pressure.

    Good Morning everyone :)

I have got a day off today - a chance to catch up, clean up and stock up...

Work in the (hopefully new) other office has been great this week. I have spent 4 days watching and learning... I love it! In all that time I didn't hear ONE negative word from the manager, she really is lovely. It was so refreshing. The staff she has hold her in really high regard, it is such a contrast. All the staff are left to get on with the job, no bickering, b*tching or whip cracking....

So, the plan (I think) is that the post will be advertised internally this week and I have been "invited" to apply. Interviews will be held in mid-August and the new recruit will start in early September. This fits in beautifully with my diary. I am filling in for current manager who is away for August and has asked me to work full time until 9th Sept Looking promising......;)

I feel so much more settled now that I know what is going on, and that there appears to be a light at the end of a very long, dark tunnel. just walking to work this week has been great and it only takes 5 minutes. Fingers, toes, and everything crossed.

The Fatty family have been incredibly quiet... fantastic! Council Boss Man has obviously made the case strongly enough for them to actually take heed. I wonder what he said? There is no noise in the morning, evening or from the bedroom TV. I am sleeping and it makes all the difference, I can tell you. After nearly 2 years - Hooray!!!!:j

My last online supermarket shop/delivery seems to be lasting forever. I am on the 3rd week now and there is still plenty of choice for my tea - I know I cut down on the treats (cornettos) and tried to stick more to the basics and it seems to have worked. I just buy bread and milk to top up - at last, a saving.

MrT is good. We have had some lovely long walks this week, despite the showers, and he is really settled while I am at work. I didn't realise that I had run out of pigs ears yesterday. He always gets a quarter of one when I leave - I ended up giving him a little chew and half a crust of granary loaf. The quizzical look on his face was priceless, but he took it anyway and we managed to restock at lunchtime. He does love a walk to the Pet Shop.

The car needs a bit of routine work - rear brakes and shock absorbers but I have decided to leave it for a while, just until the new job comes off (or not :( ) and I can budget properly. I will get an oil and filter change in the next couple of weeks but the rest of it can wait.

Bonus this morning - found a pound on the floor AND got 120 free minutes on my phone as a reward. Double :):) luck!

.... no crisis or calamity, just ticking along.

    Speak soon

    Are these two connected?

All sounding good and calm in your corner. It makes sooo much difference working somewhere you like - I do hope the full-time job there comes off. And having a decent sleep makes everything seem a bit more doable.

If you get the full-time job, will you be able to give up your early morning one?

Have a great and satisfying day, and a lovely weekend. Anything planned?

Lots! But nothing as much fun! Still, ticking off noted, and I'd better get and do some worky stuff. :D I have been handing out a few pensions. Although some of the lovely pensioners take so long to sign their name I can come on here and post while they are doing it. If find I can write longer posts if I make sure the light is off and they can't see what they are doing.

I think, to be perfectly honest, that even if I get the full time job I will still keep the other one.

Two reasons - you never know, these days, what is around the corner and things can change in a heartbeat. The little job has got me out of trouble many, many times and I see it as a bit of security.
I have been there for nearly 4 years and I see it as part of my daily routine. IF I was to get a super, well-paid job I might consider it, otherwise No.

Nothing planned for the weekend. It should have been horse riding but they are doing a day ride and I could neither afford it or summon up the energy/inclination. 2 hours is enough these days.
I may do a "deep clean" for a friend who has been asking if I can find the time? It is a chance of a bit of extra and I don't mind cleaning - it is quite therapeutic.

I may give it up for a while and try and save for a little break later in the year, depending on the work situation. I am feeling so differently about everything, I actually feel like I can plan and incorporate a week away into my diary. Let's hope so, anyway. :)

Have a good day in the shop...
