Well that depends exactly how the car was parked, and if the BB holder had a medical appointment, if the BB vehicle ' stole ' a bit of half-on-half-off the pavement, or parked within the confines of the BB area but not in a bay and was not blocking any vehicle or their doors, a warning and a note taken of the vehicle & BB number would have been sufficient for a first offence.
If blatantly parked in a stupid place like bend / access point / dangerous place / emergency exit / ambulance bay the BB holder / and / or / the driver deserves what they get. Additionally if the BB holder was visiting and not there for a specific medical reason the BB holder / and / or / the driver deserves what they get.
In my geographic area the trust has a no clamping / no move-on policy for BB holders, in house security staff carry out all traffic procedures.
Well obviously I've no idea why they were visiting, and the car-park official wouldn't have known either. But in my opinion my they weren't causing an obstruction. We were there waiting for a space (my wife who was my passenger has a BB). Obviously, seeing this other car getting ticketted and photographed meant we waited for a proper space to become available. It took us about 5 minutes. There's an acute shortage of blue badge spaces there especially at peak times.0 -
I am struggling getting my BB reissued. assume it is because they are trying to crackdown on people selling their badges or maybe its because I don't get DLA but was granted a badge because of a report from my consultant but for whatever reason They seem unwilling to issue me another one (car went on fire, badge on the dash).MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

Can you provide the council with written evidence that the car went on fire? Do you know approximately how long before the badge expires?
I would be arguing that you legitimately had a BB, but due to circumstances beyond your control, your badge has burned. If you were eligible for a BB before the fire, you should still be eligible assuming no major changes in your condition. If the staff still will not issue a BB on receipt of evidence of the fire, I would ask to speak to a manager.0 -

The rules are being tightened later this year, but even under the old / current rules there were always two criteria, eligible without further assessment [ automatic ] and eligible with subject to further assessment [ discretionary ].
It most certainly is because you don't have DLA as a ' qualifier ' for the BB, quite why you are struggling with a re-issuue depends on which mobility elements you were granted it in the first place.
Xtra info - just remembered any lost / stolen badge / damaged / destroyed badge is treated differently for security reasons, and any replacement must be marked as DUPLICATEDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. As an able bodied driver should you not have dropped your wife off and found parking in a normal space, leaving the limited disabled spaces free for drivers who are not in a position to do this due to "disabilities".0 -

That's not how it works, there are many reasons for people with varyingdissabilities to need to not be left alone stood by the door of a shop like a lemon waiting for their carer to return."Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -

No. A BB-holder can use the BB as both a driver or as a passenger. In this case she was using it as a passenger.0 -

Do you have a BB? Or specialist knowledge to give that answer? Just curious.0 -
