I used to love red wine, and then it started giving me migraines, so I can sympathise. I take it you haven't broached the subject of him actually paying you a PROPER amount of dig money yet then?

  • Hi Chev, yes we did. He's agreed to paying a proper amount (£40 a week plus chores and NOT asking his Dad for petrol money for all the distance he has to take him) once he's permanent where he's working. I'll believe it when I see it. He offered on saturday to buy us a take away, nice gesture I thought till he asked if we could pay it upfront and he would pay us back on the sunday. Well Sunday came and went and he never bothered going to the cash machine. So I reminded him last night and this morning and he's just paid it, he tried to get out of paying the full amount, then got smart mouthed with me. Told him if that was going to be his attitude I'd be putting his dig money up now, he's gone off in a strop.

  • Another card done for today. Have people asking for a price list now. My ebay item all packed and sent. Cleared some clutter tonight (binable stuff). Oh and SS handed me the print outs for his holiday (before the strop after the smart mouthed comments) and said could I check it for his ticket etc, I said 'no', told him he was perfectly capable of reading them himself. He needs to check them before wednesday and he obviously cant be bothered.

Forgot to mention my bargains yesterday. 2x 400g (didn't they used to be 500g?) packs of mince for 9p and 15p from Mr M. there were lots of really low prices in their YS stuff. though I am noticing that more people are just picking up all the YS stuf without a thought of what it is or how they'll use it. I have a rule that if it has to be used that day and it can't be frozen and I can't use it that day i won't buy it.

Morning All, thats our flights all paid. .... and yet OH still moans. Told him this morning go see the doctor as fed up hearing him moaning, SD is never going to change he needs to accept it. She's had chance after chance after chance and revels in hurting people or trying to get them into trouble (she tried to blame her brother for damage to the front door of her old house and threatened to tell the police, and although he'd done nothing wrong it was the worry of trying to prove it and yet another visit by the police). SS is upsetting OH as well, don't think SS cares. I tried to talk to him about luggage limits etc last for his holiday but he wasn't listening, he knows best etc! So told SS fine on your own head be it, what did I get..... another huff..... then a huff from OH as he starts all his carp yet again. If his family stress him out that much.... let go! That sort of behaviour is not normal.

On the money side of things as I said money is now tight and OH continues to smoke (hate the habit its filthy), and he now owes me for 2 packs of cigarettes and 3 if you include today. Food or cigarettes........I know what will win. I had a chat with a single friend yesterday who was complaining about being a typical Bridget Jones, single with 2 cats..... sorry after what I've been through it sounds idyllic! Just having a rant but OH seriously needs to get a grip and finally let the majority of his family go, they have had numerous chances yet just feed on misery and chaos and no one should have to live their life like that.

    The Monday Morning Update....

OH.... still being a !!!!, a few more rows about money (sorry it doesn't grow on trees and debt is not going to be paid off over night and the more you cause an atmosphere the less tarot/clicks etc I'll get done).

SS.....actually went to shops on saturday bought stuff for himself but made me dinner! He also didn't ask for money for 4pints of milk I asked him to get! (I'm still in shock). He then handed me a bag with 2 new vest tops in it and said would I give it in to the charity shop. He said he'd lost the receipt. No he hadn't lost the receipt, he taken the 2 vest tops out of their packaging and thrown that away so they can't be taken back (£12). They might be a bit tight for me otherwise I'd keep them for me for winter (OH suggestion).

I've put a couple of items onto Ebay (a bra I've worn once..... I'm an odd size and some new Clarins stuff I'm never likely to use). I'm hoping they both sell, I've not been greedy about either the price or the postage.

Hi Unix. You seem very stuck at the moment. I wonder if you can't see a way forward, that must be very stressful. I think it will come to a point soon where SS will have to go for your health. He obviously hasn't learned the most important lesson in life which is you don't !!!! where you live to put it crudely. I think yo need to teach him this and soon, by throwing him out.

Use the upcoming holiday to REALLY have a heart to heart with OH about all this. If you can't make him see a) how much it is physically and mentally hurting him, and b) hurting you seeing him being hurt, then you have a big problem to address between the two of you.

hi Uni, chev is really right, i can't put it any better than she has really.
the only other thing i would say is that i would never ever buy anyone cigarettes, if they can't afford them after their contribution to the household costs then they either go without or find a better job. Sounds harsh i know but they're not essentials and household costs and debts are. IMHO
  • I've confiscated OH's bank and credit cards LT, Chev. That way he can't say he doesn't owe me when he does. I think OH is going to have a 'severe' word with SS as i found boxer shorts on the sofa this morning! I don't care if they were clean or not (didn't check) they got put straight into the washing machine. Manky. I wasn't happy. As for OH Chev, yes I know the severe talk is coming. He knows he has to change and that I want nothing to do with SD or anyone round about her (he mentioned them again this morning). Told him if he starts again, we're done and he and SS will be leaving as its my house.

On a brighter note, I sold another card! ...and have non-confirmed order for another 2.
