Well event went well last night except I'm knackered. OH has surfaced for all of an hour for a cooked breakfast (it is his birthday) and I am in the middle of making him a cake (thanks Ciderwithrosie for your help with a recipe). We would normally go out for a birthday meal but we just can't afford it so I am making Garlic Cream Fettucine (takeaway secret book), and vanilla and chocolate cake covered in chocolate ganache and I have a bottle of wine. I thought I did well getting a week's shopping (lots of YS stuff including lamb mince which I'll make kebabs with) and stuff to make the cake and special meal with for £20. There's a convenience store opened up near me in an old pub, and usually I would avoid these places unless desperate as their prices are expensive but I went there as Lidl here is just having a laugh with their prices and going anywhere else means a long drive. They had Warburtons bread £1, Kingsmill 75p, 2 packs of Tulip bacon £2 (8 rashers a pack), frozen pizzas £1, which with prices like these I hope the shop survives. Its clean and the staff are friendly (unlike other shops around here).
Making payments to the cc's shortly and I'll update Beast's total. I really want a job so I can get my life back on track. I have 2 roles I'm waiting to hear about from this week and another interview on Monday. I'm not doing any tarot today as supposed to be sitting watching a film with OH, but he'll need to get up first!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. So sorry hunny that you are struggling to get a job. But you are one up on me I can't even get interviews. Ho hum. But I know how you feel, you just wish someone would give you a chance.

Thanks Chev thats means a lot. What's the feedback you are getting regarding jobs?
Went to see SIL today, she's not long had an op. Took her some lavender shower/bath stuff and lavender body lotion (stuff I'd bought in the sales and put aside), she had an op I had and I found the lavender stuff helped me get to sleep. Also I found my skin went like paper, which she said hers is going like that too. She also told OH to stop moaning but I'll explain more about that in a minute.
Went to see my Gran and Mum had left me a new pair of oven gloves! :j which is great because I'd been after ones to match the tea towels I got in Blackpool but could only find right handed ones and I need ones I can use on both hands for stability (I never take something out of the oven with only one hand after dropping something).
SS had left open the cake tin and put the lid in the sink and there was 2 bits of cake still in the tin, so I'll be having a word when he gets up. OH has done nothing but moan. I made him a lovely cake for his birthday and its still not been touched (its in the fridge), he went off to his bed in a huff last night and ruined the evening. I just ignored it and when I went up to bed he was asking who was in the room! It took about 3-4 attempts before he realised it was me, when I finally got into bed he was moaning he wasn't feeling well. Asked him what was wrong and he said he wasn't sure, so I asked was it his head, stomach etc etc and he said he didn't know, in other words he knew he'd ruined the evening and he was trying to make out he went to bed early because he wasn't well not because he was in a strop! Sorry it didn't wash. I called his bluff and said right lets get up and get ready and go to the hospital, he suddenly felt better......surprise surprise. So I went to sleep. This morning he made me tea and then said sorry, but I told him I'm fed up him sleeping all the time. He says its because he's working such long hours, I don't think it is and he won't see the doctor. The time he took to realise it was me in the room last night worried me but then again my cynical side says it was him at the wind up after his little huff to make me think he wasn't well. Goodness knows. We got back about 5 and he's away for a nap (his idea of a nap is 2 hours) and we normally go to bed about 10! So I think he's at it or is ill in which case why won't he do something about it?
Heard from SIL that SD is at it again, playing her little games. Very glad she's not in our life anymore. She was really rude about SIL's cousin who is expecting a change of life baby, SD said that was sick and 'old' folk shouldn't have kids. SIL's cousin is a lovely lady and is 43, yes she has older kids to her husband and this baby was a surprise but they have been through hell after the nurse at the hospital told them she didn't see the vein going into the heart on the scan..... and it turned out she got it wrong......worrying for my SIL's cousin and her hubby. Thankfully their baby is ok and I've said to SIL I'll make a baby cake for them. But I can't believe the cheek of SD saying that. How can anyone be that bad? Do you think they're born that way? Even SIL said she's glad that SD isn't about anymore and that the comments SD left about her cousin are the final straw.

Hya Unix, not been around much, as been busy lately. Sorry you haven't had any luck getting a job, but as Chev says, you are doing very well to get so many interviews. Here's hoping someone appreciates your many talents and snaps you up soon.
Your OH is being a right pain (again), won't say any more, as you know what I think of him.
Went to a crochet workshop this morning...great fun, have made three flowers and lots of other bits, wonderful! So pleased I went, now I can have a go at making lots of lovely things!
Also been making Kangashi flowers this weekend, fabric Japanese flowers. Really getting the hang of them now. Quite a creative week for me, for a change.
Last Saturday, I was at an overlocker workshop, and on Friday, I had some training on a Bernina sewing machine, by the chief UK trainer....both paid for by work, great!
Need to get to bed soon, had a couple of late nights recently and have to catch up,or I'll never cope with the manic week ahead.
Good luck for next week, fingers crossed you get a job soon x.

Uni, that's the thing. I am not getting any feedback at all. No response to any of my applications. I don't know what to do about it really.
I think it is the long gap being a SAHM that is doing it. But I can hardly hide that I haven't been employed for 9 years!
Sorry to hear your OH is being a git again. I am not sure what else to say about it really.

Paid the cc's and updated 'Beast's' total. I will be so glad once I'm back in work. Went into charity shop this morning, nice to see my friends again. Missed them last week, they really are great people. Bought some ramekin dishes 50p!
Made myself an early lunch as I have an interview this afternoon so had my fav macaroni cheese. Done 2 loads of washing and its out on the line, emptied the dishwasher (SS was supposed to do it but I am not dragging him out of his bed) and worked out that tea tonight will either be egg, beans and chips or fish fingers, beans and chips.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Well last night's tea was a concoction of chips, eggs, beans and fish fingers with bread and butter. SS is buying pizza for us tonight (I'm wondering why the sudden nicey behaviour). Have to go to next village shortly, OH hasn't left enough in his account for a bill he forgot about. I also have some Tesco vouchers I'm going to double and get some bits and pieces and I have bits and pieces to pick up for 2 gift cakes I'm putting together. One of the gift cakes is an order, albeit from my SIL.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Well, I have some news............ I've been offered a job! :j
Its contract, not permanent but I am so happy. I think think I deafened the poor agency guy when I screamed. I need to go through background/credit checks and I need to take all my paperwork to the agency tomorrow to prove who I am.
The amount of pay is similar to what I got before the only thing I don't get is a pension and medical but I may look into doing that myself.
This means I can breathe again, its a very smart place so I need to get another suit and tops I can get out of the charity shop. I do have suits I wore a few years ago but they are too small. The job is a 20 minute walk from the train station which hopefully means I'll get fit and lose (a lot of) weight, my previous job I drove door to door.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
