Sorry not been about for a few days Piq, this bug OH passed on is awful. I've done nothing but cough so hard I feel sick, my head hurts and I can't stop sneezing. My Mum had an interview today for a more senior job, she didn't get it. Not fair as the woman who did I'm ashamed to say is a former friend of mine till she showed her true colours quite a few years ago (She got caught doing something unforgiveable and tried to deny it). She's not a nice woman and persistently undermines people, also she's one of those that if you had a cold.... she's got flu.... if you get my drift.
Piq, what's stopping you from applying for the job? If you don't will you not be wondering what if? I don't use a template letter I generally talk about how my skill set fits what they are looking for and why I think I would be an asset to the role. I'd be happy to help you Piq if you want to PM me.
My ears are crackling and are quite sore. I'm supposed to be volunteering tomorrow but have texted my boss there to say I'm unwell. I need to recuperate for next week as its going to be a heavy week.
If anyone else is in the same boat as me (redundancy) or just like a good film watch "The Company Men", all about people being made redundant and how it affects them and their families. Very well shot. It shows one family having to sell their house as there's no work. I know of one family here that's happened to and I'm hoping I get work soon as my savings are dwindling very fast. The film is an eye opener.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. How is everyone? The weather can't decide what it wants to do here today. Trying to convince OH that we need to stop eating out but its not working as he says he can't eat in the morning then as soon as we're heading through to see my Gran he's hungry and wants a burger!
Got a new home hamper to do for OH's niece. Going to make it into a 'cake' like the nappy cakes I do. Trying to do it on a very strict budget but still want it to look good. Going shopping for the supplies tomorrow after docs.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. hi, hope you recover soon.
I have the same losing battle with my OH and 'just getting breakfast outside'. or 'it only cost a pound!' i still hold that we need to set up a school for them to get them trained properly.0 -
I think you might be right LT, I've won the cans of juice battle. OH used to want to buy cans at the vending machine in his work or snack van. When I explain how much extra it would cost over a month he was horrified. I do stock up but I keep it in my car, as if it was in the house SS would just rattle through it even if I did say leave it alone. He knows where it is but he won't go near my car. But OH still wants food out.
Got some of the bits and pieces for the new home cake but still no cream fleece and I'm not giving up one of mine. But got washing up liquid, sponges, cloths, anti-bacterial wipes, tea lights, clothes line, pegs, emergency tea and coffee (sachets) and quite a few other bits and pieces but still need to source a cheap cream blanket.
Another interview tomorrow. Please keep your fingers crossed.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Ok, I'm really beginning to freak out about not having a job. I've had 4 interviews this week. 2 have come back and said no (One didn't think I'd stay, the other thought it was too big a jump moving disciplines)
. So I'm really fed up, I need work very soon. Today cost me £16 (train and taxi), I really hope it'll be worth it. I really need a change of luck.
YS sausages, bacon, mushrooms, beans and egg for tea tonight.
One of my reasonable new bras has developed a fault, the wire popped whilst I was wearing the bra, ouch doesn't even cover it.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. are you claiming JSA Uni? if you are then you can (I think) claim travel to interviews back - and of you have the receipt for the bra then take it back as not fit for purpose!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I don't qualify for JSA Dragon as I got redundancy money and I do the tarot part time (even though I explained I can't guarantee what my income will be). Done 2 readings today, and OH is going to give me £100 tomorrow when he gets paid.
What have you been upto Dragon?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
