Pay day today and declaring my totals!
June = £319.53 so I was under budget by £30.47 - hooray! :T
But that was a guestimate as it was my first month so I think the real work will be starting now.
Can I be put down for £300 for July. The meal planning has already started!"Born to shop, forced to work!"0 -

Done my last shop of the month (I'll have to go back tomorrow to exchange lightbulbs and buy snacks for preschool but they aren't counted. In fact £3.50 of this shop was lightbulbs but I'm so over it doesn't really matter!) at £49 and I am declaring my total for June at a miserable £30 over budget of £400.
I have done far too much Stocking Up, for what? I have no idea! I am not expecting holocausts or hurricanes, massive snowfalls or any other disasters. I seem to have total paranoia that I will never be able to get things at that price again so I must buy loads. Doesn't seem to be saving me much money! I am tempted by the second purse thing but I would have to change the system a bit, there would be no point me paying the purse back at full price because most things I buy on offer I would NEVER pay full price for. I do have target costs for a lot of things too, for example
Toilet roll - Used to be target price of 25p per roll, has crept up a little in the past few years but won't pay more than 30p a roll.
Beans - 25p a tin so £1 for 4 offers mostly.
Yogurts - 25p each (I like decent ones) for £1 for 4 usually
Washing powder - 10p per (stated) wash, so £5 for a 50 wash box.
Cheese - £5 a kilo, so BOGOF or half price usually.
Bread - used to be target of £1 a loaf, am struggling now to get granary for that, best at the moment is 2 for £2.20.
Choc/biscuit bars/cake bars - 10p each
Crisps -10-15p a bag if possible, DH likes crinkly or maize type not normal cheapo crisps!
So whenever I see my usual items at my target price I tend to buy a lot. Silly really as these offers always seem to be on!
Will do better in July! (Same target) I have a freezer full of stuff, I will try to inventory properly by the end of the month. Hopefully will manage a BBQ or two as I have at least 30 burgers!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I'm declaring my total for June as £127.82, so I've just come under my budget of £130
Can you put me down for £130 again for July? Thanks!

Hi, I'm new
Have been looking forward to starting my first GC. I've been tracking my spending for a couple of years but need to start taking it more seriously to get rid of the last of our debt.
Please put me down for £250 for July.
That will actually be for 5 whole weeks as I'm keen to get started early (mon 27th June - sun 31st July).
It's just me and my hubby to feed so should be do-able, especially with our well-stocked kitchen
Hope it's okay to put this on this threaddon't really know what I'm doing yet!
