Evening All,
I went to sainsbugs this evening with both kids  to stock up on the baby offers. I included a bottle of 5p baby bath to use as liquid soap refill. Great idea and thanks for the tip off about the offer.
I resisted the repeated requests by DD for a really expensive toothbrush that we don't need and only came out with what I went in for. Result :j

I haven't reconciled the bank statement yet to make sure I didnt forget to record any spends, and I might have some minor things to buy next week, but I'm more or less done with £577 recorded. Although thatis over the £400 I was aiming for, I'm really happy with it. For a start, June turned out to be a five week month for me because of how my weeks went, and I also did a massive stock up on the special low carb breads and pittas my dh eats, which I only do every 3 months or so in order to get enough for free delivery. And I have just bought all the meat gor a big freezer cook which will go into next month to prevent takeaways.
Also I am just really pleased to be getting a handle on this and I am confident now that I can make my 'real' budget of £600 with reasonable ease and make more savings in future to bring that down.
Last night DH and i had a money conversation where nobody got angry or burst into tears<g>. Not only was i able to tell him exactly where i was and that we had money left over but he then said that he thought we needed to increase our personal allowances a bit which is a big relief as ive felt I've had to nibble other budgets here and there and apparently so has he. I woke up ludicrously early this morning but for once not with panic but with a feeling of peace despite his snoring!!
My ducks are in a reasonable row, I know where I am and I'm heading in the right direction with my eyes open. I've worked out a good way to keep my work expenses separate so that they don't confuse me. And I had enough in my personal pot to take advantage of the tesco Kindle offer yesterday which will mean I can cancel my mobile broadband and save £10 a month.0 -
Hangs head in shame.
I have spent over £300, where my budget was £100. This isn't a problem in that I had the money (but from other pots), but WHY did I do it? I have for the past 3 weeks, only been to a sm once a week, which was a major thing for me to get to grips with. Unfortunately, I have been spending about £80 to £100 each time. Stupid, stupid me. I have enough to feed the 5000 at home, yet still I buy. This is my target for next month. I'm not going to have a monetary target for July, but a 'what I didn't need to spend' target. I'm allowing myself £50. I will then join back in properly in August (uh oh, holidays!). Hopefully while the children and I are off for the whole of August, I can make some kind of dent in the pantry!!

I have gone over budget (signature updated). I wont declare yet, just in case. I am very disappointed. I will start meal planning for next month, buy the meat and batch cook a fair amount ahead of myself. July is a 4 week month so I do hope to catch up with myself somewhat.
Best wishes to Spigs and Hippiechiq.:)0 -

Having a think about the total for July as I upped it for June to include the holiday. Need to reduce it again for July and start to tackle the targets again after a couple of months off.
