Argos - ineptitude causing the near loss of a bargain

I can't see why, someone would expect the manager of Argos to interfere with what people outside the shop were doing.
Just imagine what trouble he'd get into if he caused fights and arguments.
Your argument with people in front of you in the queue, you deal with it.
You would have no more authority than the manager to demand changes.0 -

Oh, good grief!
Why don't you actually read the post before making comments that are completely irrelevant?
"I got to Argos just as it opened and there was a large queue, we were all waiting, when we saw 2 people just walk into the store, everyone noted it but didn't say anything thinking that there would be someone there to check, also the store wasn't out of bounds as such. Tickets for the offer were being given out and were limited - customers could go in a browse the catalogues, but for the offer they needed to be in the queue."
They didn't push into the queue, they walked into the shop and the idiot manager then gave them tickets as if they were in the queue. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
I'm glad one person has passed the 11+ for comprehension.
I respect differing opinions, but let's read the post properly beforehand eh.0 -
All is well that ends well?
I find Argos management to be utterly useless in most respects so not suprised at this story at all.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
How was the manager supposed to know, they weren't the first in the queue?
Was he just standing there with vouchers, waiting for someone to jump the queue before he started handing them out?
Would he not have handed them out if someone hadn't jumped the queue?
Doesn't that all sound a little ridiculous?0 -
The manager was standing inside the store - the people walked past the big queue (where he was giving out vouchers one at a time), went into the store, milled around for a minute then grabbed a ticket from the manager and entered the queue whilst the ones they arrived behind - me included had not yet got into the store. So yes, I don't think it's beyond the laws of comprehension that he should have seen them - perhaps he's a football ref on his days off?
They knew what they were doing which is why they gave in when challenged. I used to live in Sweden and believe me, if it had happened there there would have been a lynching! Swedish people are very placid unless you jump a place in a queue, or you leave a communal laundry room unclean.0 -
what does seem very strange for the manager to do is to have 5 vouchers, hand one to the couple away ahead in the queue and then miss out everyone inbetween and give to the old lady just in front of you. He ineptitude actually gained you a tv. What about all the ones in the queue in front of you who went away empty handed? To me, if he wants a riot on his hands then he went about it in the right way.
Or am I getting zero points for comprehension??:)( which of course is not difficult!)weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0 -
