Are you not staying on at college?
  • well done, and keep at it!! - who knows you may even be able to save enough to look at getting a mortgage and buying a house in a few years, rather than renting!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Well done you - wish I'd had your attitude years ago - I'd have saved myself a lot of stress. Hope your family appreciate you!

    Think twice before spending anything!
  • Hi Jess,

I am 20 and I've always been quite good with money too! I am just not very good with housework and cooking and things... but everyone on here is lovely and they don't mind when I ask stupid questions so that makes me feel better :) I think I have a good attitude towards money because my mum never had much money when we were growing up and encouraged me to save up for things I wanted etc rather than just getting what I wanted all the time.

My OH is terrible though and he wasn't exactly spoilt but his parents split up when he was young and I think his mum didn't want him to feel like he went without and he does seem to think money is there to be spent sometimes, so it is good at least one of us is moneysaving or the bills would not get paid!

don't be so hard on yourself, you don't ask stupid questions, asking about something you don't know about yet is the best way to learn something new. Well I think so anyway

well done to you and Jess too, keep up the good work :T

My gawd! If I was an employer I'd employ you like a shot for any suitable job I had - after I'd satisfied my conscience by trying to persuade you to continue with your education and get some better qualifications:cool:

Is it possible for you to stay on in education and do that? It would be a shame if you didnt get all the qualifications you are capable of.....
  • You may win the title of Youngest Money Saver :j I'll add you to thst thread later ;)

Well done you - you have a good level head on your shoulders. I have started my 10 year old DD on an intensive programme of OS stuff and budgeting and so on, so hopefully by 16 she will be as clued up as you.

LOL Jess, I took DD into the Claire's sale last week to buy Christmas presents for her school friends. She now has a selection of blingy bracelets stashed away for a fraction of the normal price.
