Surely i cant be. Ok granted im only 22 but i dont think your ever too young to be O/S.
Bf is taking the  because he thinks im being silly because im registered on here. and i told him it has good money saving tips, and its helping us get by alot lately - he doesnt believe me and thinks im just daft. (worth bearing in mind that im the employed, debt free, household running one and hes currently umemployed (medical issues), in £15,000 worth of debt adn can just about work the tumbe drier if he has instructions left for him.
Im loving it though because
a)everyones nice and friendly and offers lots of advice
b)i was never taught to cook by anyone so learning that now
c)never learnt how to run a household
d)cleaning - what?
e)efficient shopping - wasnt likely 6 months ago
does anyone else get grief from their other halfs and surely im not the youngest on here??

I think there is a sixteen year old young lady about here somewhere.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

I'm not the youngest but my hubby thinks I have lost the plot. He cannot see how a few coppers saved here and there can add up to such a large amount by the end of the month.
I have a 'pig' which eats my loose change and last month I ended up with over £98 in it.. in 1 weeks this month I managed £19.. but men are terribly narrow minded and dislike any kind of change, they are so blinkered by their own defeatist attitudes they cannot see the good we are doing.
Keep up the good work and by the time you are 80.. you should be almost as rich as the queen!! lol You may also prevent yourself getting into the financial strain I have struggled with throughout most of my adult life!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

bah well im the wrong side of 25, but what strikes me is the idea that people arent brought up with these ideals. Surely it is the norm to be taught these skills by our parents? I understood the value of money from a very young age, I knew that if I wanted a toy I had to save up weeks of pocket money, my first computer took years of combined christmas pressies and pocket money and car washing, etc.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the site, better late than never

I'm 25 but to be honest have always been brought up in an os way, so I've never had to 'convert' to old style things. It never would have occured to me to do anything else apart from cook meals from scratch and stuff like that (apart from not being able to afford ready meals when I first was a student living away from home).0

I'm a bit older than you SammyKaye so not a contender, however I can relate to the OH giving you grief... my OH is not *too* opposed to what I'm doing, just... 'dubious' at times.
When I mentioned that actually a slow cooker sounds like a fantastic idea as I try to do loads in the morning before I leave for work (usually makes me late but I never learn), but have no energy when I get home, he asked if they were safe to use... something about temperatures, it took a few google results to put his mind at ease.
The first time I got soda crystals and vinegar out to do some washing he looked completely shocked and made me do a 'test run' on his least favourite pair of jeans! I use them all the time now and I don't think he's noticed
But to his credit he's a great guinea pig for all the cooking I've started doing, and actually when I started to have a bit of a complex that he'd find me boring now I look forward to batch cooking at weekends etc he was very good at showing that he has a sensible side too and doesn't want to live off M&S food forever, now I've been at it a few weeks I think he likes the money saved on food shopping too. Great helper in the kitchen too. Ok, enough praise.
But bear in mind that everyone who registers here does so for their own reasons and motivations and they won't always be shared by the people around you... which is why I love this site - even if I don't join in much (shy) I love to read that there are so many people out there to inspire me
