Whyte & Co debt recovery

Hi
I received a PCN from TCP a few months ago and after following all the advice on here of ignoring all the letters, I have just returned from holiday to receive a letter from Whyte & Co debt recovery (based in Swanley) saying that they will take formal notice to take recovery action if the fine is not paid in 7 days.
Now I can't find anywhere a copy of this letter on here, I was expecting a letter from a solicitor, not debt collectors. I am really worried now, should I contact them? Has anyone had any dealings with them?

Put your mind at rest. As usual, it's all hollow and meaningless threats. That sentence "take formal notice to take recovery action" is just a lot stupid gobbledygook. Just keep ignoring. And, by the way, it's not a "fine", it's just an invoice. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

If they arent in the sticky thread then scan the ticket and letters you have had so far and post them in the thread. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0

Are you sure this is regarding the TCP invoice you got?? Whyte & Co also do TEC collections, plus you say it states recovery action to recover an unpaid "Fine".You haven't received an official PCN that you have missed have you?
If it is a PPC invoice then worry not! They are just chancing their arm, you owe them nowt unless a Judge says you do!

Hi
Thanks for that. It is defintely a PCC invoice from TCP and actually they don't mention "fine" in the letter, that was me just panicking! It says "amount specified".
I was just concerned as I too looked at the Whyte & co website and thought it looked quite official so wondered if TCP had started new tactics. So I just carrying on ignoring, right? They can't come to my house without a court order?0 -
Yes, just keep ignoring. You are correct, they can't come to your house unless you lose in court and you don't pay whatever the judge orders within 28 days.
Is it possible for you to scan and post up this letter you have received from the company? As you are new here you won't be able to provide a direct link. To get round that, put a couple of spaces in the line and then we will be able to re-assemble it.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
If its a private then carry on ignoring! I think some PPC's are trying new debt collectors and solicitors as they are aware people have sussed the usual culprits. A debt collection company can only ask you to pay, they have no more power then me you or any Joe public. The problem is especially the ones who are bailiffs as well, some times need reminding that all they can do is ask! And that we can simply ignore them!
These companies really need to look at these accounts being passed to them. [Although the DCA world is as bad as the PPC world when it comes to playing by the rules]. They are being passed unsubstantiated debts to try to collect. Then threaten you with all sorts of action when in fact they are powerless. They really need to go back to collecting debts they can substantiate with a credit agreement or a correct contract, rather then phishing for the PPC's0 -
I've just received a letter from Whyte and Co too after a TCP ticket a couple of weeks ago (one of about 60 or so now
)
I had a little panic attack too when i wasn't confronted by the usual AAHUTTON letter header and usual empty threats, and no amount of google-ing seemed to help.
One interesting thing google DID turn up however is that recently Whyte and Co took on an ex-regional manager from Town and City Parking, and he now has a managerial position inside Whyte.
Conspiracy much? =]
Needless to say it seems that TCP are now just using a reputable law firm to send out their spam. Usual rules apply; ignore, ignore, ignore and keep parking whether you see the TCP signs
Spread the word about this new TCP law firm!0 -

This is interesting.
Would you be happy to let Crabman put anonymous pics of your letter-chain on the top sticky thread? See 'PPC letters, what to expect' and pm pics to Crabman with ID details & dates blanked out. Or just attach them to a reply on that top thread for Crabman to pick up when he has a moment.
Newbies need to know which threatening letters each scammer is currently using. Thanks in advance.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I know this thread is a few months old but came across it on my google search. Back in July we received a PCN from TCP and we checked on this forum and everyone agreed that it should be ignored.
Bearing in mind my partner is the registered keeper of the car and she wasn't driving it that day.
Well this morning we received a letter from Whyte & Co debt recovery, Swanley telling us that unless we paid the £82.00 within 5 days recovery action will be instigated.
Now firstly do you think we should just write to TCP and let them know the owner wasn't driving or shall we just ignore the whole lot?
We've dealt with debt collection agencies before for 'real' debts and had to deal with a bailiff before which wasn't pleasant!0 -

Remember than unless you (or your wife actually) have received formal notice under the terms of the Law of Property Act 1925 that TCP (there's a decent mouthwash for you!) have sold or otherwise assigned the so-called debt to Whyte's then Whyte's are simply whistling in the dark and are powerless.
Be very carefull though. Whyte's next move will be to shout and scream and stamp their feet.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0
