There is one £5 voucher that doesn't scan. I think it could be because they don't stock it.
Some SA have put it in manually for me and other haven't. Never a problem, I just offer a different one, as I still can't close my purse because of all the vouchers in it!!! :j :j :j :j0 -
Damn it, kept it in my purse so don't know which one it is, I will use SS when I am in there next and report back, do you think they will work after exp date??0

It was about the 20th/21st of December.
The missus did the big xmas shop on the 23rd & I removed those Cragganmore ones from her purse before she went, didn't want the SA looking to closely at them. She got £31 off a £100 shop using the others & a few others I'd collected."I took her to a supermarket,I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere" :cool:0 -
I frequently use Somerfield vouchers and they are usually accepted along with Sainsburys, Morrisons etc. Sometimes I am told they never accept vouchers, sometimes that they only take Sainsburys as they are the main competition, sometimes they will only take one only if you have bought at least one item relating to a voucher, sometimes only a percentage of bill. Obviously no one on the staff has a clue what the policy is and neither do I, so all the time they are willing to accept them, I am willing to donate them. Have saved loads of money this way and have no qualms about doing so. It is not illegal and it is not fraud. I do not force them to take them.
The Cragganmore ones don't work because they don't stock it, I just hand over another £5 Talisker one instead!
Just picked up another load of Somerfield magazines today. My scissors are getting blunt - maybe I can find some mispriced in Tescos!0 -
I had lots of Somerfield alcohol vouchers that I had been using in Tesco. I always opt for Self Scan as none of the cashiers I've tried will take coupons.
The first lot of coupons I used, which weren't Somerfield ones, I put through too many and the supervisor wouldn't authorise the final one, so I'm guessing our Self Scan (New Milton, Hants) is set to a 20% final total in coupon redemption - before any multi-buy discounts.
When I attempted to use the alcohol ones just before Christmas, I miscalculated how many I could use and the machine asked for authorisation.
When the supervisor found out I was using Somerfield booze vouchers, he said that Tesco don't accept them at all as they can't redeem them from the manufacturer and he took all of them out of the coupon pot
I did try complaining that if they don't accept them, they should block them from the tills, but he said they can't do that. I used some more yesterday, but made sure that I didn't go over my 20%!!!0 -
i don't see a problem with using the somerfield vouchers, i always ask if i can use some vouchers and hand a load over a mixture of till spits, asda uniball/sinex and the £5 somerfield ones. i have only been refused three times. young male students seem the most laid back about coupons. i have used 100s of pounds worth of coupons in the last week or two.Another day another R&R
