£37 vouchers in Somerfield magazine

That’s another unnecessarily harsh response from you, and not really what you’d expect on a website about finding ways to save money. Looks to me like TESCO R+R RAIDER has merely offered to part-pay using some Somerfield coupons and Tesco/Asda have decided for whatever reason to accept them. He/she didn’t force them to take them, and I am not aware that they had been altered in anyway.Jazzyjeff wrote:Amazing well done, hopefully they will call the police next time you're there and have you arrested for fraud.
The fact that some SAs and/or self-scan tills willingly accepted them is not his/her fault and hardly fraudulent. It’s up to the supermarket to train their staff to accept or reject them and in fact some supermarkets openly take competitors’ coupons (at a loss) as a way of getting you to shop with them instead.0 -
Ok sorry maybe overly harsh, it just really annoys me that people think it is ok to deceive like this. If asda/tesco openly take them fine but people here are deliberately out to deceive and actually think its fine to do so because of strength in numbers making people feel legitimate.
As for if the self-scan takes them thats ok I don't see your logic, so if it takes forged notes that's ok because its taken them? It is fraud its just supermarkets are unlikely to take legal action and wouldn't want any bad publicity so are much more likely to just ban people which they have done so.
Just because the technology is not up to scratch yet is no reason to abuse it, my local asda is really strict over coupons and have told me its because of these coupons being misused, so doing this is ruining it for everyone using proper manufacturers coupons which asda/tesco can get their money back on.0 -
its not ok to decieve people like this. did you no the cashiers actually get into trouble for taking the wrong coupons and can lead to dismissal.0

Somerfield is printed on these vouchers in small lettering & all over the vouchers but in light ink, make sure you cut the bigger somerfield logo of the bottom & the date.
They expire in early Jan the 5th or the 7th.
On the subject of defrauding tesco's,what tosh... its consumer revenge for the overcharging they do..Its not likely to make a dent in their BILLIONS of profits they make every year either..
Rant over :-)"I took her to a supermarket,I don't know why but I had to start it somewhere" :cool:0 -

:T :T :T :T Here! Here! If Tesco make £2billion in profits a year  - ie £2billion in their bank accounts - it is little wonder that we voucher hunters go to great lengths to stretch our money as far as it will go. If vouchers weren't supposed to be used they wouldn't scan in the first place.
Take a chill pill - all those that believe using vouchers is immoral or illegal.0 -
This is the reply i got the other day from Tescos regarding Somerfield vouchers.
Thank you for your email.
Im sorry but Summerfield vouchers are not accepted on our site.

So I take it yours is a vote for Communism? And you agree with what has happened in Zimbabwe??
Another problem is as you say Tesco make loads of money but its not them that giving these vouchers over hurts its everyone who uses proper vouchers but get them rejected/ only a small amount allowed, purely because of all these stupid somerfield vouchers.0 -
Bliming heck! Every topic lately turns into an argument!
Personally I have used and I guess you could say abused these vouchers for ages now and I always try and use the same cashier who obviously has not got in trouble otherwise he would not take them. Think about how much cash a cashier takes in a day and a very tiny proportion will be vouchers. It is looked at over all not per transaction.
Anyway, these is a helpful site, anyone know of any forums for people against using vouchers?? Or is it just arguments you like, lol:T Benjamin has won!!! Am soooo proud. Thank you to everyone who agreed my baby was the cutiest. Want to go round and hug everyone who voted, it means so much to me!:A0
