  • I went and collected more vouchers (books) today only as I was passing Somerfield anyway.
I have sent vouchers to all that left their addresses in my PM box. I do still have an envelope waiting to address with 3 lots of £37 vochers in.
Please only ask for them if you know you can use them. Next PM I get with an address I'll send them to.

how easy is this self scanning lark - knowing my luck I'll get some "helpful" assistant putting me through the whole procedure!

  • Hi does anyone have any of these vouchers spare at all, I dont live near a Somerfield but very close to asda to check my self out!!

    thanks
  • whoops somefield vouchers
OK Im planning a trip to tesco this afternoon, what is the best method to use the somerfield vouchers, is it through the self scan units or a till operater, if I use the self scan system does it require a teller to confirm the voucher is ok or will the transaction go through without incident? Should I limit the vouchers I use and would this negate the requirement for a human teller on the self scan tills?

I used self-scan yesterday put through £15 worth and the machine started bleeping for authorisation - but I had put the coupons in the slot before the SA came along - she didn't say anything and just reset the machine. Best to get them out of sight before the SA comes along if you can, then if they are targetting Somerfield vouchers they won't spot them. If they ask just say they were your CC vouchers.

As for an operator, used 2 more today and got £10 off a portable telly, went to a young SA and he put them through no probs. No offence to middle-aged women (as I'm one myself;)) but they are a bit "jobsworthy" and best avoided if you can.

I have just been to my local tesco and the SA refused to take them, we don't take Somerfield coupons. i even asked her to scan it and see but she still refused.

so is the best way to use these with the self scan service. i have never tried to use coupons this way before. Do you just put them in the slot for coupons. does it take the price off? what happens if it does not take the price off does it give the coupon back to you and alert the supervisor or keeps it? how many can you use in one go?
