    Hi guys,

I signed up a few days ago (on the 17th) with the Amazon code.

I've added 10 DVDs to my list as they have recommended.
    First DVD arrived this morning.

It says this on my accounts page:

    Next payment: 17/07/2011
    £5.99
You get 3 discs FREE within 30 days (Expiring 17th July 2011)
Please note: Your free trial will expire when we send your last free rental, or after 30 days, whichever is the sooner

Does this mean as soon as they get the 3rd one back, which could be within 3 weeks time (i'll watch 1 a week), I will have to start paying? you see what I mean?

I'm thinking of taking the 10 DVDs off my list and just putting in 1 or 2 closer to when it becomes 30days...

You have to cancel and they must receive all the discs back by the time the trial ends or they will start charging (meaning if you mail them a couple of days before the trial ends and lovefilm says they don't have them back yet, you get charged for another month). My intent was to get the first two and return them, then clear the rental list so that when I quit at the end of the month they would definitely have all discs back. That didn't work out for me as my first discs never arrived and now I don't even know if I can quit until I get the form from the post office to report them lost, and it takes a couple of months to get the form!

Anyhoo, for your case, send your rentals back well before the 30-day mark, clear your rental list so they don't "accidentally" send more out, and cancel. Many people also get proof of posting for this final mailing as lovefilm has been known to claim they don't get discs back if you are trying to cancel in order to force you to stay a member longer and/or pay for the movies.

I cancelled yesterday as my free trial ends on Friday. To date on all occasions except once where it arrived 2 days later, the discs have always arrived the following day, and on every occasion my replacement came the next day. When I cancelled, I was told to ring an 0800 number as they need to talk through the cancellation. They tried their sales tactics to keep me on, and asked what was wrong with the service to make me want to cancel etc. They then said that my account is now cancelled pending the returns. I also deleted all the titles in my list so they couldn't send any more.

I don't know if I'm being paranoid, but I logged on today, and the rental list is still showing my last 2 titles as being "at home" so I hope they didn't "conveniently" not receive them. I played it safe by getting proof of posting as well. Just hope my account can be cancelled with no problems, as other people have reported these tactics of the last discs being lost in the post, and being charged until it's sorted out.

I'm just trying to cancel now but they have hung up on me 3 times! :( Was it easy to get through for anyone else? Is there a better time to call?
    Thanks

I signed up approximately 25th May but still no sign of my voucher. I'm worried that I may have accidently deleted it :o

For all those who have received their vouchers did you cancel before or after receiving it and was anyone on the £5.99 / 3 disc package?

    Thanks

Easiest way to cancel is to wait until after 23:00 at night, it only tells you to ring in during their office hours which I think are 07:00 to 23:00.

I clicked cancel after 23:00 and was able to cancel online easy peasy.

I cancelled straight after sending back the 1st disc within a week of opening the account and got my voucher on the 18th.

Honestly, I wouldn't be suprised if they cut you off on purpose. Lovefilm has very sneaky tricks to wring money out of customers, one of which is making it hard to cancel. If I'm up late tonight, I'll try after midnight and see if I can cancel online.
