My preference would be somewhere that is a lot cooler than hers would be. No doubt we'll resolve this one - we often do separate holidays, but that doesn't work so well for a honeymoon.is making your own rings expensive? never thought of it much just assumed i would get something from the jewellers.
Friends of mine spent a weekend in Cornwall making their gold wedding rings under the guidance of a jeweller a few years back if memory serves that was around £700.I think you have plenty of time to realise what you might have forgotten will be something obvious! lol
Time is disappearing on us, only 12 months left0 -

I spent all day thinking 'this time next year i'll be having my hair done, going to church, be married...etc' So exciting. We booked our honeymoon too so thats something else to look forward to and booked our 3weeks off work yey!!0

Hp3 where are you going for your honeymoon?
Went to a wedding reception last night, saw a few things that want me to change my plans slightly like the guest book wasnt even opened! so might not get one. They had a wishing tree which had a few bits on but not enough to make it worth while. The idea that you get from venues that if you dont seat everyone for the evening do will mean more people will dance doesnt work just means a lot of people standing around.
And making sure the dj is good, ita making me worried as i was just going to go with the one the venue suggests but i think it makes a huge difference, the dj last night was playing music you couldnt really dance to or no one wanted to dance to. which meant no one was dancing except a few odd songs. The music got better but not until 10.30! then people started dancing. i think im going to have to check him out see what he is like also couldnt understand what he was saying as with a few djs had the mumble! so didnt know when first dance etc was happening til it started.
The couple asked for money towards there honeymoon but got loads of gifts! and the money they got in cards was put in one of those cardboard letterboxes which made me not want to put money in incase it disapeared.
They also had what looked like the matalan suits, the slightly shiny ones with cravat and waistcoat and i have to say it looked sooo nice!
Instead of a buffet in the evening we were given chips in a cone and bacon butties which went down really well with everyone because they had been drinking.
Also after speaking to the bride she was saying that her dress had started to get on her nerves after a bit her mum had to keep going underneath to adust it, unsure if it was because she has been in it all day so was getting fed up with it or not fitted well enough. Makes me wonder if i should get a light knee length dress for the evening just in case?“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr SeussI Married My Prince Charming 01.06.13:kisses2:

haha schofield lots of considerations anyway :P I have two weddings in the next two months for my cousins weddings and no doubt we will be picking up lots of tips/what we would(nt) like etc. from them.
Well that's us into June and the first lot of our dates got a year to go! Crazy how fast it's coming in.
My OH has decided she is making the invites herself as shs pretty crafty... sat last night with her trying about 50 different designs! Sometimes I think you girls just like extra work!Nah but looking forward to when she decides what shes going with and can maybe nab a pick on here to give you guys a look.
Hope you are all well.Saving for our next step up the property ladder0 -

i'm at a wedding in a week and i think i'll be taking note of everything that works and doesn't too :rotfl:

I'm giving my MOH the task of getting everyone to sign our signing frame and put a comment on our top tip tree (it's also mentioned on our website) so I'm hoping this will ensure everyone gets to contribute, could you maybe consider this, if a guest book was something you really wanted?

We're asking everyone to submit a dance that they think always gets them up on the dance floor and giving that to the DJ a couple of weeks beforehand together with a large selection of our favorite songs, i'm sure any DJ would do this, that way your guests get to have a bit of a say in the music?Allan_r_123 wrote: »haha schofield lots of considerations anyway :P I have two weddings in the next two months for my cousins weddings and no doubt we will be picking up lots of tips/what we would(nt) like etc. from them.
he he he - see my comment above about my wedding in a week, I bet between us all and our going to weddings this year we'll all get lots of ideas. The thought of people coming to MY wedding and crossing things off because they just don't work is  though :rotfl:

Has anyone given notice yet?
Just holding off a little bit! Just in case something happens and the wedding has to be pushed back a few weeks! That way the certificate will still be OK!"The most desirable trait of the internet is the ability to attribute quotes to anyone."

In our case its between 21st June and 21st July, we're hoping to make appointment in the last week of June.
Unfortunately the local register office is only open Tuesday and Thursday, my two fixed office days, and both are days when its problematical for OH to get away from her office - guess we're both going to end up booking holiday.0
