Wow well done!!
We have been to a few wedding fayres! We entered competitions and even won the hire of a venue but it was far too far away unfortunately! It was beautiful but the food n drink costs were also really pricey so we had to forfeit the prize! Here's hoping to more wedding competitions!!!:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

Well done on your win. Its a great feeling winning something towards the wedding. We have been entering loads of wedding competitions, especially for honeymoons. We have already had 1 great win when my girlfriend went to a bridal show in Cardiff and won first prize in the raffle......a voucher for £1000 off her wedding dress :j as you can imagine she was chuffed to bitsThanks to all that post competitions

Haha I know, as if I haven't got enough to be getting on with this is just another distraction :P Ah well, at least Virgins still aren't up or I really would get no work done between both sites!Saving for our next step up the property ladder0 -
how is everyone else getting on with there plans? went to look at a reception venue today, we had previously on having it at our ceremony venue but have had second thoughts now because it is quite rural and not much accomidation local, found a nice place with a couple of barns to hire which are great they dont have the wow factor which i was hoping for but the do have on site accomidation and with a bit of jazzing up should be great! was speaking to the owners and the price for an afternoon tea and a buffet for all our guests equals the same price we were paying for just the room hire, where we were previously thinking of having it. She also said if we block booked the b&b she would give us a discount (to be fair the price was ok at first) will cost us £1500 to hire the b &b for 2nights (one before and 1 after) meal the day before and brunch on the final day for 10 rooms. i thought it was very reasonable!! my dad said he will pay for the rooms which is very nice of him too and im hoping it will mean more people will travel down for it. 50% of the guests are having to travel down for it and i was a little worried no one would come. still having nightmares no one will come.“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr Seuss

Funny enough I had already e-mailed Virgin and they old me that the prices for their Worldwide Holidays would be released on 09/07/12. I've already been looking at Virgins Caribbean and Mexico holidays for next year though : )Thanks to all that post competitions

Hi Schofield,
Love your sig.
Plans have been progressing slowly - work has gone manic the last two weeks, though it will hopefully return to normal in another few days.
Currently we have registry office and venue booked, all the people we really want there have been asked to save the date and have confirmed they'll make it, best man and matron of honour arranged, ceremony music picked, preliminary meeting with the jeweller making our rings happened last weekend, my lady has started work on her dress design and told me what I'm wearing (:)).
I think we're ahead of where we need to be but I'm also convinced we've missed something major. The photographer we want isn't contactable for another 3-4 weeks, but there's got to be something we should have done.
I'm sort of ignoring the mention of holiday brochures for honeymoons, as we haven't given that any thought as yet so that's less of an oversight as on the backburner for the time being.0 -
we havent been looking at honeymoons much either think we might look for a late deal closer to date as we arnt too fussed where we want to go and hopefully it should mean we get a nicer holiday cheaper fingers crossed!
is making your own rings expensive? never thought of it much just assumed i would get something from the jewellers.
I think you have plenty of time to realise what you might have forgotten will be something obvious! lol“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” ― Dr SeussI Married My Prince Charming 01.06.13:kisses2:
