Hi Everyone
I got engaged on 19 March and we have booked our Wedding for 29th June.
Me and the OH were together for 11 years before he finally popped the question!
So far the venue and registrar have been booked and I have purchased a dress
I already have something that I can use as favours and I have an idea for a colour theme.
I am hoping that I can persuade a friend to make the cake, family to do some of the flowers and I want to make the invitations.
Hope all of your planning is going well0 -

Hi Summer, congratulations on the engagement and welcome to the thread - I have added you to the list on page 1It's starting to fill up now!
Thats good you seem to have done all the main things anyway in terms of getting the venue and that sorted
Our planning is going okay... we are going to try and get as much as we can sorted this Summer as we are making our own invites and stuff and both have a busy year ahead of us with work and stuff so need to make the most of our time in the summer when we are free!Saving for our next step up the property ladder0 -

As we are sharing stories thought I'd share ours. I'm Rob and my partner is Laura. We have been together about 5 years and have a boy called Dylan who was born in Dec 2010 and Laura has a daughter, Chloe who is 7.
We got engaged in Oct last year. I asked Laura to marry me when I took her away for the night to a posh hotel and meal. Anyway I knew Laura would think it was an engagement in the offing so in order to throw her off I hatched a little plan. Laura had picked a ring in Crouch in Cardiff and although I had picked it up in secret I thought I'd use it to my advantage. Before we went out for the meal I gave Laura a bag with Crouch on it and said I had a surprise for her. When she saw the bag I knew she would think it was the engagement ring and so when she reached in and took out the ring box she had a huge smile on her face....anyway to throw her off the scent I had swapped the ring in the box with a cheap ring from a cracker, Laura's face was a picture when she saw it and I joked that I wasnt ready for marriage and that it was all a big trick!!
As you can imagine she was a little annoyedafter a bit of persuassion we went out for the meal but all through I could see Lau was a little down. She did start cheering up during the meal though and actually admitted that it was a pretty good joke as she had expected me to ask her. After the meal we went back to the room to find a box on the bed, inside the box I had got alphabet chocolate truffles spelling out "Will you marry me". when Laura turned round to see me I was on one knee withe the ring she wanted. Luckily she said yes and here we are now
Sorry if that was long windedThanks to all that post competitions
