I think Avon have been good to offer the 20% discount to people. Probably worth more to you than a bubble bath.
I'm nothing to do with Avon just a busy mum whose surprised about all the fuss and trouble people are going to to complain.
So do I just accept that I got charged £5.50 for a cardboard box and an Avon brochure?
P.S. If anyone does want to copy my emails as some have asked, then feel free to do so, perhaps just change a few words or wait and see what my success is before all falling in the same hole!0 -
There is a certain irony that a post on a money saving forum has resulted in people paying money for an empty box.0

If you had maybe read the thread then you would know that, for example, Mandie paid for products (OTHER THAN THE BUBBLEBATH) and had her complete order cancelled and Alan paid £5.50 for delivery of a box containing nothing but an Avon brochure. That, IMHO, is Avon getting money for nothing and not the other way around.
I imagine we are all busy people (I certainly am and I'm not a Mum!). I'm also very suprised that you're suprised about MSE'rs response to this fiasco
I'm afraid we will be 'fussing' for a little while longer so bear with us....If we all lived to the rule 'an eye for an eye', the world would be blind...0 -

LOL
I do believe the boxes often contained a 'free gift' Chas so not empty afterall!
Is there a word that describes Avon's belief that a catalogue is a free gift!0 -
I actually received my order today, (no not the bubble bath) I already had an e-mail cancelling that, this was a separate order I'd been waiting for. The Lynx site said it had been delivered and left in letter box, which it wasn't. I rang them and they said the driver had left in behind my green bin, it wasn't there. Lynx weren't very helpful at all and I had to ring them several times. A lady called at my house today and said this wet, squashed box had been left in her garden, she thought it was rubbish and was about to put it in the bin and saw my address and brought it round. The box was soggy but my order was inside along with a very wet brochure, it shows there are some honest people around. The thing is this was delivered a street away to the same number as mine but a different street name, what with the security issues mentioned in previous posts and now this, it has put me off.Penny Pinching Pauline0

i think your order being delivered elsewhere is royal mail for you. they do what ever they like. i get post for people in different road and i have no clue where they are so i have to redirect them
and they wonder why fraud goes on.0 -
Jonven - maybe you live close to me - my delivery arrived today too, by a Lynx driver in a tatty old car. The box was damp & battered & everything inside was soaking wet.
The good news is, my box actually contained the two free bubble baths!0 -

Chas - Glad to hear you got the bubble bath, you are one of the few that have. I've not got much faith in Lynx, but after hearing how yours turned up I've even less. Mine got dumped in someone's garden, and I'd have never received it if the person whose garden it was left hadn't brought it round for me. Avon and Lynx have a lot to answer for but I don't suppose they will be interested.Penny Pinching Pauline0 -
The lynx site says my order was collected on the 12th but still no sign of it yet, the money was taken off my card too.0
