Sounds like a fab weekend, and so happy you enjoyed the flute lesson :T
:rotfl: at Aldi- they are a little scary aren't they! And really well done for the wall - that is very impressive!! As is your running improvement :TDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Good grief to the staff at Aldi! Their loss, absolutely. And doesn't Bobby sound lovely? Thats really something, sigh ......
I love unusual train journeys for work, Cheery - you look out of the window at a whole new world. I used to do my knitting too(tho I was doing v long journeys sometimes, London to Glasgow).
Congratulations on the time of the run - thats better than you thought, isn't it? More woo hoos!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yep, it is indeed KC! :T :T :T
Long day today - and not over yet! <yawn> Good productive train trip, lovely tea-and-biscuits meeting, and I've just built the second half of my wall:j :j :j
(hands are worryingly wrinkly now though  What do you mean you're supposed to use a trowel??? :rotfl: :rotfl:)0 -

(apparently we've got one in the cellar - if only I'd have asked.... :rotfl:
trouble is, I've now gone into 'FINE. If I have to do it myself I'm going to do it ALL myself, and will not be asking for help of ANY kind' mode, so I didn't ask :rotfl: :rotfl:)

Can totally sympathise with the "FINE etc. etc." mode.
When I ripped out my old kitchen, a load of plaster fell off the wall. Various people kept promising to come round and do it, but nobody actually did. In the end I went into 'how hard can it be?' mode. One complete plastered wall later, I was ready to take on any job. It wouldn't have got me an NVQ but I was quite proud of it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Well done on the run - it is always nice to get such a good improvement as it motivates you to keep going :T:T:TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Great time for the run Cheery. Yep, I am a "fine I will do it myself" type so completely understand that. Cant believe though that you are building walls after such a long work day. How fab are you? Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

I once considered CPR on a builder who admired some plastering. I told him I did it and he was amazed. The near heart attack was caused by my comment that it was just like icing a cake and that I used a pallette knife for the final finish. :rotfl::rotfl:
I also understand the FINE etc., mode. I think it is very common. I must say that I did not choose to live with my DH in order to get a handyman. He has other qualities that make up for his lack of practical talents - a wicked sense of humour and a laid back attitude to life are two that spring to mind. :T:TBut how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Hope your hands aren't suffering too much! Oh yes I recognise "FINE..." mode - Mr S is generally good at such things, but it's actually getting started that's the problem!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
