Thanks you lovely lot
(And Tricia, what a lovely offer of help, thank you so much!
)
VL, bit too early to tell your friend everything is ok based on me, I've only been out the other side 2 days!But it wasn't at all scary really
Slept well last night! Much quieter at home than hospitalGot up and was merrily pottering around making a cuppa, refilling the hot water bottle, making bran flakes, thinking 'ooh, this is alright, I feel pretty normal other thn not being able to look up!' when I realised I'd probably need to sit down for an hour after that little bit of light pottering
So I'm now on the second episode of Pride and Prejudice, had 2 cups of tea and a small doze, and am starting to come round again
Mr Daffs reckons he's going to get me out for a walk today, even if it's only to the end of the (very short!) road - my major aim is to wash my hair, and I've yet to figure out the best way to do it, given that I can't bend my head forward enough to go over the bath, or backwards enough to lie *in* the bath :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm thinking a shower, with the door open in case I wobble over, and just accepting that I'm likely to get my eyes full of shampoo. Pah!
Still, should keep me occupied for a while
Thanks for the bio oil tip Mrs Moo, think I've heard that one before, will keep an eye out for it. You can see it starting to go pink round the edges now. Certainly shan't be rushing back to work, don't fret!
Having beads and stitches taken out on Tuesday, going to ask if I can keep the beads and make a pair of earrings out of them - waste not, want not, right? :money: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
I just knew you'd be watching P&P, nothing beats it :TWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0

Phew!
Well, just after I wrote that a friend texted and asked if she could come round... I hopped in the shower and washed hair (hooray! Only item on list ticked off before lunchtime! :T). She ended up staying for a couple of hours and has just left - lovely to have company, but actually quite exhausting talking for that long (although her and Mr Daffs quite capable of keeping conversation going between them!). Then spoke to my mother, who has apparently been a nervous wreck (hopefully have reassured her that I am not dead, nor about to be in the near future).
Mr Daffs has gone to the shop for more treats nowAnd another friend texted to see if she can pop in this afternoon - best get me head down for an hour and have a kip in preparation I suppose!
Tis exhausting this convalescing business0 -
Ooh, thats a lot of company to have, Cheery - the hospital would never let anyone stay that long during visiting hours, remember - you can say you need to lie down, its okay!
Healing hugs, Cheery.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks KC
Don't worry, I am lying down
Am 3 episodes of Pride and Prejudice down, 3 to go, and next visitors not coming til 5
Planning a little mild socialising for an hour or so, then I might even have a lie in the bathAlthough don't want to overdo it :rotfl: :rotfl:
Mr Daffs is going to stick his head in a party down the road about 9pm for an hour, then come back here and we'll have pizza and sparklers in the garden to start the new year off(then I'll go back to sleep, don't worry
)
So I might pop in here at 9 since I shall be temporarily abandoned, and see who's aboutAlthough might need to be napping again to get my strength up

Just popping my head round the door to check you're ok and resting
Not the same op I know but I had Lymph Nodes out in my neck, not content with operating on me the first time, they went back in 6 weeks later to take another one out the scar is hardly noticiable now.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and here's to 2012 :beer:0 -
Glad you are ok Cheery. As Tricia said, do let us know if you need anything, not far away at all. You need to take it easy. xx0

Just answered the phone to a friend who was very confused to get me and not Mr Daffs - none of us were really sure what to expect and I feel far better than most of us thought I would! (much preferable to the other way round!)
Second lot of visitors got roped into a family chess tournament half an hour after they were supposed to get here - that was 2 hours ago, and I'm now suspecting they may not get here at all....0 -
Ooh Pride and Prejudice! Have just watched the film version this afternoon and its not a patch on the BBC one!
I usually start each year by re-reading it, followed by Emma and then go on to the Bronte's.

Oooh interesting, P & P is at the top of my reading list for next year ... I'm ashamed to say that I was given it years ago ... but have never finished it.
Best wishes for 2012 Cheery
