Thanks Squizz - not entirely convinced it adds up, but at least it's there to come back to
Been pottering around all day today - thinking I might need to force myself to have a nap at some pointWas up about 8 (although didn't even have a shower til 10.30, so I guess that counts as a fair bit of loafing
), but since then have taken the rubbish out, fought with the wheelie bins, had a sort out of paperwork, done the internet banking, and all that thinking about next year, and spent an hour in the attic tidying up the remains of last minute Christmas making, and wrapping presents I've not managed to post yet :rotfl:
Doesn't sound like much now, but I've been on the go ALL DAY - not good!Just woke up feeling more alive today than I have done all week, so thought I'd best take advantage :rotfl: :rotfl:
Attic floor very nearly clear now, so I might give it one more 15 minute slot, and then lie down for a nap for half an hourThen I was thinking a mini trip to the post office - got to get out of the house at some point today, it's sunny now (if rather blustery!) - ooh! Maybe I'll pop in the other direction to normal, there's a post office there too (no more than 10 mins walk, honest gov
), and I get to go past our semi-adopted chickens :T :T And there's a little cafe in a craft shop that I've not been to
Sounds like a plan to me0 -
The plan sounds great, and it makes sense too! Though I have to take issue with "it doesn't sound like I've done much today" - it does sound like you've been on the go all day, yes, it does! Lie down!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Sorry KC
:rotfl: :rotfl: ACtually landed up going out in the sunshine, to the post office, the newsganets (a different one this time!) and then a cuppa and a scone in a little cafe I've not been in (and probably won't go in again - all too much pink chinz and china cups and expensive 'scrapbook supplies' for my liking!)
Now I definitely HAVE overdone itand am worn out - so off for a small nap
Suspect even Mr Daffs' band rehearsal in the kitchen will keep me awake now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Dearie me, I think you've done more than me today and I've been at work - have a lie down! (does sound like you're doing some nice things with your time off though
) x

Oh, I should have said that - *what* you're doing sounds lovely

Thanks folks
Managed to lie awake in the dark cosiness for an hour, then doze off for an hour and a half - so that counts as a pretty substantial nap in my book!Evidently needed it :T
Friend came round, and we've been up in the attic doing crafty things :T :T Mind you, it was a struggle to know what to drag my sluggish brain to do :rotfl: :rotfl: Sewing ribbons on a bag seemed utterly beyond my comprehension :rotfl: :rotfl: I looked at the pattern for a knitted chicken, but it involved putting stitches on a stitch holder - "ve never done it and normally wouldn't bat an eyelid at trying, but right now addled brain couldn't even cope with teh thought! :rotfl: :rotfl:
So - started knitting an owl insteadRealised too late it involved 2 new stitches, which did rather try my brain power, but I triumphed :T Now have a front, a back and a bottom, and decided it was about time to give up for the night before I started getting dangerously overconfident :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Still, a successful day I reckon on the whole! :T :T
(you'll no doubt be pleased to hear I've got NOTHING planned for tomorrow - and I shall try to make sure I do NO normal life admin type tasks at all - a day of knitting, reading, idling, and perhaps a little walk with Mr daffs in the sunshine I think :T :T0 -
That sounds good, Cheery - hope you've had a good sleep too.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Did indeed KC, thanks
Ended up on a little trip to the city farm yesterday, nice, not much walking involved, but a good egg butty and a nice bit of flapjack, and guinea pigs in little beach huts! :T
Wednesday's visitor still winning hands down in the test - Thursday's didn't bring anything at all, didn't have one on Friday, but did have a phone call from a friend saying she'd baked me some scones on Tuesday, packed them in a box but then looked at the vile weather, didn't feel like driving in it (I live about 3 miles from her), so she took her coat off, didn't ring me at all, and spent the rest of the week eating my scones!  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Was phoning yesterday to tell me how guilty she felt, and tell me she had 2 scones left, but wasn't going to bring them - was instead going to sit with her boyfriend at home at eat them! :rotfl: :rotfl: So minus about a million points to her - pah!
Mum and sister coming today - but they know about the shabby visitor behaviour so far, so will definitely bring cake if nothing else0 -

Oh cheery you do make me laugh. Just catching up and that post about patchwork fund is amazing with a fuddled head. Imagine what can be done when you have a clear head. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
