/Thanks KC, although I should confess I wasn't at all thinking of house maintenance
, rather just putting more than what I pay now towards the bills since I'm the one with an income :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks folks
everything *was* ok until today... but it appears a trip to Manchester on saturday + staying up til 4am+ trotting to London and back on Monday + a 7am train to York this morning was Rather Too Much and I had to come home again at 3pm (although sadly 'coming home' isn't that easy, and even replacing the buses with taxis it still took 1.5 hours). Been in bed since 5, just got up for a cuppa and a pootle then heading straight back
Stupid incompetent body - that's a perfectly reasonable week! Meant to be in York tomorrow too but quite clearly I won't be going much further than the sofa even if I do get some work done...
Keep meaning to write stuff about new budget, but just not had the energy. Pah
(all cheery really of courseDon't fret
)

Not a stupid incompetent body just you doing too much too soon. Your body is telling you to rest so take it easy tomorrow and don't make any decisions about Thursday just yet. Take it easy and take care.0

Ditto! About the "yikes, thats a lot"
glad to hear you're in bed and not planning to go anywhere except the sofa
You replacing buses with taxis after coming home halfway through the day sounds really bad. But no fretting, you listened to your body, after all.

Thanks you lovely lot
Been to see the surgeon today for my 6 week checkup, and he suspects my medication isn't quite high enough - which would explain the tiredness, acheyness, general fed-up-ness, brain fog, and the fact that I've put on an entire stone since I was last weighed at the hospital in November :eek: :eek: :eek:
Still, tht should all be sorted with the increase in medication - which they won't give me til the blood test proves I'm low, so fingers crossed...
Anyway, on a slightly more cheery note, I've FINALLY got round to doing Jan/Feb budget :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Give me a second and I'll share a few thoughts and observations...0 -
Soooooo.....
In January I:
* overspent fun budget by £26
* underspent food budget by £28
* overspent diesel fund by £10
* underspent work travel fund (already limited by being off sick) by £11 (by, er, being more off sick than I planned :rotfl:)
Overall, for food and fun, which is what I do a daily spending diary for, I came in at £2 under budget:money:
That all included:
* 8 no spend days :money: (mostly unintentional, and largely because of being too ill to leave the sofa, but still good! :rotfl:)
* £46 on tea and cake in cafes:rotfl: (but I've been poorly and couldn't do much and it was part of my recouperation to walk to the local cafe, honest!) (although this *may* explain at least *part* of the extra stone (see last post)...
)
* £26 on presents and posting stuff to other people
* £21 on books (again, been off sick, and got about 7 books for that!)
* £36 on clothes (including a denim skirt, a bravissimo wrap dress, a jumper, 2 tops for cutting bits off to sew onto other bits, 3 pairs of knickers, 2 pairs of stockingsand a pack of 3 pairs of emergency tights because I'd neglected to notice that the (red, stripey, fabulous, charity shop but still in packet) pair I'd gone out in had NO elastic and were literally down round my thighs after walking for 10 mins :eek: :eek: :rotfl:)
All in all, not a bad month! :j :j :j
Some slight adjustments made to the budget for this month though...
* I've reduced work travel budget from £180 to £150 - I used to budget for going to York 3 days a week, just in case, but I only do that once every 6 months or so, so I've reduced it to budgeting for 2 days a week. However, my student card (that gave me 50p travel on the bus) has run out, and at the minute I can't walk to the station, so am spending much more on bus fares.
* I've increased the contribution I make to the household funds (for bills etc) by £100. Some of that will come from the work travel budget, some from just generally not quite spending up to the limit of my wages in normal budget (but I will be now).
Patchwork fund now stands at £3613 :j :j Not *quite* had the normal amount in it this month because of being on strike in Novemberbut still
Only £6387 to go! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
