Thanks folks
I think it's a bit like the process where you pull your head out of the sand after your LBM of realising you're in debt - only in this case there isn't any debt, just a big load of things in different people's names, things we're paying too much for, I have no idea who the mortgage is with, there's apparently two lots of buildings insurance etc etc etc, and a name change on top of all of it, and I'm not named on ANYTHING so it's a job to get anyone to speak to me at all! Bleurgh. Still, I will indeed take a few days off to relax
couple more hours of work today and I'm going to start early and finish early tomorrow, then I'm off - Hooray! :j :j :j :j Not actually going anywhere, 4 days at home and then into hospital for a couple of days (not sure that counts as 'going somewhere' in the festive sense:rotfl: :rotfl:) then several weeks of lying on the sofa during which time I will inevitably be hanging round here a lot more than I have been of late when this pesky work-type-activity has been getting in the way

it sounds like a plan to me. I am finishing work for the day now too. Going to do a short day tomorrow. Just heard that Mr is finishing work at 5 on Xmas Eve so we are debating me going up to bring him home that night..... or me going up on Xmas Day to bring him back. Its up to me to decide and I am panicked because I have not done any food shopping or even got him his present yet! YIKES!Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. YIKES indeed Mrs Moo! He'll have to have a present from the off licence
Been out to get the last of Mr daffs' presentsAll done now (I think!). Stayed out just that tiny little bit tooooo long, then remembered we didn't have any milk, so went to sainsbury's on the way back, and it tipped me over the edge and I'm in a vile temper now
trying to calm down before he comes back! :rotfl:
AND I stopped work at 3 to pop out for an hour - and now it's gone five so I've got to trudge on for another couple of hours to make up for it - how tedious!0 -
Daffs, if the work doesnt have a deadline for tomorrow then leave it. No point working when you are wound up it wont be productive. what does Michael Winner say, "Calm Down Dear"
I have ordered a DAB digitial wifi radio for him and it is due for collection tomorrow. I am working but I will go out with Moo at 8am and nip into town to collect it and wrap it tomorrow. I do have a few little silly homemade items for him too. Not to the standard of How much do I love thee let me count the ways jar of last year but hey ho.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. I'm impressed at your efficiency mrs Moo! Hope you picked it up in time
Unsurprisingly, most of the things on my list got rather less important as the day went onI'm now feeling VERY festive with the prospect of NO WORK for at least 3 weeks, if not longer
Money wise...
£30 spent in evil Tesco at 9.30 last night, that'll do us Christmas dinner and well beyond, plus another £15 ish on stuff like marzipan, fruit, chestnuts, milk etc. (but that's between us,s o I'm only half of that)
Also spent £3 on tea and cake with friend in cafe today, 90p on tv guide (once a year purchase) and £4.50 on the last thing I'm buying for Mr Daffs.
Popped in on two friends for tea and mince pies, all presents apart from Mr Daffs' are wrapped and sent off, Christmas tree lights are on, and I don't have to be ANYWHERE (until the hospital on Wednesday, but we're not thinking about that right now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:)
Cheery evening of present construction here, then tomorrow will be just idle pottering, clearing house up a bit, bit of washing maybe, might change the bed, nothing too strenuous0 -
your day tomorrow sounds scarily like mine with a bit of baking and cooking thrown in. We are having our Christmas Day Dinner on Boxing Day so I am going to do a few bits for that tomorrow to keep in the fridge. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Cheery, here's to you and Mr Daffs having the most wonderful imaginable Christmas and a fabulous start to 2012 (illness and operations excepting). May you recover well and take care of yourself, and also stuff yourself silly!

Thanks Pickle!
SAme to you and your family
Mrs Moo, how very sensible you are! We are doing no food in advance - Christmas cake isn't even made yet
Having a nice day though, bit of a walk, pottered round the charity shops, have tidied downstairs, done some washing, and now Mr Daffs is asleep, and I'm in the attic making and wrapping his presents in a nicely relaxed way :T :T
Just about to watch the Father Christmas cartoonAlways watched this and the snowman right before bed on Christmas eve as kids - Mr Daffs indulges my need for the snowman, but both of them in a row is a touch too much to ask, so I try to squeeze it in during the day while he's not looking
Might squeeze the snowman in this afternoon too while I'm making the cake - that'll give him a nice surprise tonight when we don't have to watch it :rotfl: :rotfl:
