Ughhhhh,
exterminate them all, along with slugs & cockroaches.0 -
 I would be leaving home
I'm no good at meeces and rats :embarasse:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Fortunately I don't scare easily
asked it nicely to leave, and won't be thinking about it again
Been to shops - no particular bargains, although Mr Daffs did get us a new toaster (the old, free, one blew up in April) - from the bin outside the charity shop (they chuck stuff they can't sell in there - and they don't sell electrical stuff, so it all goes in...). This one seems perfectly fine, and is nice and small, and most importantly - works0 -
Yikes! I don't scare, but remember the really gross diseases that rat urine carry - worst of all is Weil disease (I think thats how its spelt) - being all mum-ish, can I just say to wear your gardening gloves at the mo?
Excellent news on the free toaster (again)! I confess, when my mum came down, I bought a tiny wee one at Wilkinsons - it cost £4.97!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I love that your friendship cake is called Herman to! That means it has probably come from the same batch! Wouldn't it be lovely if we could trace it back?
And woah there on the public sector workers ladies! As a public sector worker in a union I didn't get the chance to vote but cannot cross the picket line and do support the cause and don't take it lightly that lives are being inconvenienced as a result. I'd like to think it could be considered as a poignant reminder of how flipping hard people in the public sector work and for how little. I am sorry your op has been postponed Cheery but so pleased to see you finding the silver lining (as always!) . The timing does somehow seem much better
My Herman was demolished today by family and colleagues except for DS1 who just exclaimed loudly that 'eurgh, that's mould, she's been growing that on the work top all week'!!
Right, having spent the day in my pj's for Children in Need (at work I hasten to add) I now have to get dressed, get organised, and get out for a friend's birthday. Birthday yay! Going out in the cold boo!Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

Not sure anyone was dissing the strikers were they Ruby? (How come you didn't get to vote anyway?) I certainly wasn't - all I said was that it was tedious (from my point of view) that it was being delayed, which it is, since I've already waited months and months, and now have to wait for the surgeon to get back from holiday. Hardly a crisis though! My union's not on strike this time I don't think - we were on strike back in June and have been on action short of a strike in the past few weeks. As my boss said when I told her about the operation, 'at least the strike is having an impact!'0

Weil's disease, aka Leptospirosis, isn't as common as people would have you think so I wouldn't worry too much!
@Ruby, sorry, that may have been me, two sides to every story, shouldn't judge I know!Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
I'm not offended! Have possibly been listening to too much Radio 2 though
!
Not sure why I didn't vote - could be that vote happened before I joined, or more likely I haven't opened my post for a while!
It's rubbish waiting for surgery Cheery but at least you have a date and a new beginning to look forward to
Anyway, late and been out imbibing so shush! I'm off to bed now with a lovely cup of tea zzzzzCommercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73

<tiptoes round Ruby and puts breakfast on> Hope you had a good night lass!
Thanks for the Weil's disease warningsHaving spent many years as a conservation volunteer I've heard them all so don't worry. Bizarrely I do know someone who nearly died from Weil's disease - but then was rather ill, incredibly drunk, and fell in a stream so I reckon I'm probably in with a good chance.
(with these things I always feel that if you know someone who's had it, your own chances of getting it are far reduced, because how likely would it be that both you AND someone you know would get something really rare?? :rotfl: Anyway, worked for me with lightening strikes - ex boyfriend was struck by lightening - how likely is it that I'll ever be? Very unlikely indeed:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (you don't need to explain, I know it doesn't work like that
)
Shape of the day changed here, was meant to be trotting over to Manchester to visit friend with baby, but me, her and baby are all still full of cold, so we've postponed for the time being - all benefit from another idle day I think! So a bit of house pottering, bit of washing, that enormous list of stuff that I didn't do yesterdayand a little trip to the WI for me today :T :T :T

I want a WI! My Mum has a brilliant one near her. Although I think there might be a Christmas craft market today if only I could drag myself out of bed... But I'm so snuggly and warm!!!! And now I have a big fat black cat on me - that decides it!Commercial Debt £14587.22 Student Debt £7747.73
