And yes, do the thing you've been obsessing about first or else you'll spend the whole day thinking about it! But don't spend too long on it!
  • Ah, Cheery, I hope you're feeling better. You can't underestimate how important it is to rest up and get back to health pre-op. Lots of hot honey and lemon, rest and try steaming with eucalyptus. You might just have to give in and sleep it off for a few days.

I did give in and and rearranged all the furniture in the boys bedroom - it would have kept me awake otherwise! Had a little nap (only had 5.5 hours sleep last night!), picked up boys, didn't kill them, popped to supermarket, planted out rhubarb (in the dark) and kept my fingers crossed it wasn't dead already, made jambalaya (yum yum yum :)) and asked for help to move some furniture! So unlike me!

Chatted to my poorly sister and am now ready for bed.

Hope you wake up feeling better tomorrow Cheery!

Oh Cheery, you poor thing! I'm glad work were sensible enough to tell you to take the time as sick leave - when its genuine, most employers are still pretty good about it, I find. Definitely do that meeting by phone - I hope you're still tucked up in bed.

I was indeed still tucked up in bed at 8.09 KC! :T :T :T Up now though, trying to decide whether I should take today off too... Feels like a luxury (!) as I'm a little more human than I was yesterday, but at the same time I think it'll be one of those days where it'll take me all day to do something that would take me an hour to do tomorrow, so I might be better sleeping it off...

Ruby, I'm impressed with your productivity, well done you! :T :T

And the meeting appears to be cancelled - good really as I wasn't convinced it was necessary in the first place :p
  • That's me done for the week though ;)!

I did indeed take today off too KC :T :T Felt a bit of a fraud at beginning :o I mean, who needs more than one day off for a *cold*?? But then got settled on the sofa and barely moved for several hours - clearly needed it! After lunch I felt a little more lively, and did a bit of knitting :D And then I felt a bit more lively and hoovered the living room and cleared out the 'drinks cabinet' (which is really just a bit of working top next to the cooker - been annoying me for weeks, absolutely disgusting, enormous thick nasty cobwebs  dead woodlice, and general grimness :o  All nice and sparkly now though, got rid of a few nearly empty bottles by pouring all the vodka into one :D and now have more space for more spirits :D

Also potted up those plants pippi sent me a couple of weeks ago :o Another job that took about 5 minutes that I've been putting off for a fortnight :rotfl: :rotfl:

So clearly the right thing to do to take today off too - think I would have been worn out by lunchtime if I hadn't, but now I'm evidently resurfacing (although now worn out by my 'marathon' cleaning efforts :rotfl: :rotfl:). Back to work tomorrow I think!

(on the plus side - another NSD for me - that's two in a row :D Handy this not being able to go out of the house malarkey! :rotfl: :rotfl:)

It certainly is handy! Yep, and it sounds like you needed today off, badly - thats a good list of jobs well done, but its ker-nackered you ... don't do anything else, said she - only cos I've ground myself into the ground before now, its a nightmare. And I hope you'll get to your bed soon, as opposed to the couch.

I got the bed last night KC :p

And all that list of stuff was only done since 4pm - was too worn out before that! :rotfl: :rotfl: Won't be too long out of bed tonight either I don't think :D
