Yay to days off! :j :j :j
Tooting was nice, home nowMr daffs has taken himself off for a nap though, so my planned tidying of the bedroom will have to wait, pah! Going to nip off to the fabric shop instead and might pop in to visit a friend :T :T

Its a hard life! Enjoy the unexpected trip out2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks KC - they didn't actually have what I was after anyway! BUt I did use a Boots voucher to get some rather fabulous teal nail varnish
Also changed the sheets and gave the bedroom a good tidy, and filled a bag of clothes for the charity shop. Still plenty to do- sorting out underwear baskets for one! :rotfl: :rotfl: But I actually started on a different project - repairing a couple of pillows that were really torn and squashed. Could have thrown them out and replaced them, but instead I've cut the ripped ancient outsides away, and am re-fluffing the insides and stuffing them againVery :money: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oooh, having a jolly old day today! :T :T :T Was out in the garden at half 9, have picked a load of sage for drying, cleared out a load of lemon balm that' past its best, went to the WI (was a little disappointed with my cake this morning I must say! just a bit dry for my liking...), quick trawl round the charity shops (best purchase was an old packet of glamourous silk stockings for 95p :T :T :T - sadly when we got home and opened them the packet contained.... one folded sheet of kitchen roll :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: not the bargain I was hoping for! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:)
Back home and have dug out a giant rose bush and a magnolia, and shifted a giant load of stones. I ache like mad (and am meant to be doing a 10k tomorrow morning! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:) but there's only an hour of daylight left so back to it I say!
Then when it goes dark, need to wash the sage and hang it up in bundles, find a vase or something to put the last of the rose flowers in, find containers to put the magnolia catkin things in to make the house autumnal (couldn't just throw them away), and finish re-covering all those pillows from yesterday!
(and maybe have a bath so I don't ache tooooo much while I'm trying to run in the morning)
Got a fab book from the library - Bob Flowerdew's no work gardenMy kind of book

Sooooo....
sage is washed and hung up at the foot of the stairs to dry
roses and magnolia catkin things all distributed round the house (magnolia doesn't look quite as elegant as I thought :rotfl:)
pillows all recovered (and me and the attic are entirely covered in feathers - damn things! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Still, have done lots of refluffing and making slightly smaller outside covers so the feathers don't just all spread out and leave the middle bare so all good)
Not going to squeeze in a bath, but reckon I'll manage a quick shower, something to eat, and then we're all ready for tomorrow morning's 10k!
(fortunately someone on my lovely other forum just reminded me about the clocks going back :rotfl: :rotfl:   :rotfl: at least I would have been an hour early I suppose, better than an hour late!0 -

Ah baths, I remember those! Not had time for one since I moved (3 weeks) - still not quite finished unpacking so feels naughty to relax properly! Glad to hear you have a date for the op and that they're flexible, that's quite impressive actually! Hope it goes well.
Please can I ask about the WI? I contacted my local branch person (secretary?) and have been told they meet once a month...just wondering how come you seem to go much more often - is your branch just super keen or are there lots of branches that do that and just don't widely advertise it?Weight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
Hey Cheery! Hey everyone else! I lost you and now I've found you! I've caught up to page 9 and now my mind is running riot with weight loss plans, gardening plans, knicker plans, exercise plans, budgeting plans, planning plans!

I think Cheery goes to the WI Market each saturday, rather than a WI meeting:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Quite right Maty
Google Country Markets - it's kind of the selling wing of the WI - no meetings or anything, just a scout hut full of cake and jam and tea
10k this morning... Mr Daffs doesn't feel well...0
