Had a letter today saying my ISA had been opened :T :T It's with the same bank, so can transfer stuff into it online
:T
Just transferred the whole of my patchwork fund into it   Bit scary transferring that much over at once! Still, it's grand to have it sat there all separate now - and it's highlighted the fact that there's now only £429 in my savings account - which is meant to hold my holiday fund and the palace fund... Not sure that's right  but stupidly my spreadsheet is with editgrid and the page won't load
(actually, just remembered there's only £6 in my holiday fund at the minute as I just paid for a weekend for both of us in a gypsy caravan with some friends next MayLong way off, and chances are Mr Daffs won't come, in which case I'll have a lovely caravan with a little wood burning stove all to myself for the weekend
More expensive than I'd normally pay, but it's a friend's birthday, lots of cheery people I've not met before, and sometimes you have to say yes to these things when you can... We're also not having a no quibble weekend before Christmas, and we're not going away *at* Christmas, so holiday fund has time to build up again.)
Anyway, all that waffle means that there's about £420 in the palace fund, which is probably about right. I think.
Also need to check the spreadsheet as the bills account has £553 in it - and I'm pretty sure the emergency fund alone is £600 :rotfl: (although some of that is in the main account as a slush fund type thing). I also suspect the car maintenance fund (also in the bills account) has a negative balance after buying enough tyres to refit an articulated lorry in the past few months  :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We'll need another set of (rear) tyres soon, but other than that, tax, mot, insurance, breakdown all covered til May, and that's only the breakdown, so that should build back up again fingers crossed! :T :T
Funny day today... not very productivebut ok. Done lots of thinking. Got to toddle out to flute lesson now - not played at all all week! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Never mind
excited about having separate account for patchwork fund, much easier to see it building up, and I'm already thinking about how I can add to it with little bits every day - cheery to see it growing! :T :T :T0 -
Great work on all the funds Daff, it helps me to have things in separate accounts too - am always open to a bit of jiggling between them when necessary too
Gypsy caravan weekend sounds wonderful.0 -
Thanks Lula! :T :T
Right - decision made. I've had a pretty unproductive day todayso tomorrow needs to be a Getting Things Done day :T :T I've spent a fair amount of the day being indecisive, and a lot of it messing about on the internet
So I've decided if I write a plan here, all I need to do is set the timer and follow it, one thing at a time :rotfl: :rotfl: Let's see shall we?? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Speaking of which - about time to go to bed I think! :T0 -
Loving both these posts, Cheery - separate accounts for separate funds is really the way to go, I think. And its a brilliant idea to set out tomorrow's plan today (tho I'm writing tomorrow, of course
).
Right. :coffee: for me. Want one?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Absolutey KC, thanks
Run done - think I'm rather in need of a new pair of running shoes - will investigate tomorrow.
Breakfast then shower then crack on with work for a while! :T :T0 -

Blimey, that's worse than I thought!   I haven't been entirely useless, done a bit of work, but not actually finished anything to cross it offFeel quite rough today, bit like I'm about to get a cold
Met friend for a cuppa though, and just demolished an entire bag of chocolate raisins instead of lunch...
Need to set the timer and crack on I think!0 -

Woo hoo! Setting the timer and not having long left really does work:T :T :T Done loads of stuff, including more work than I've done all day in the last hour, and just had a long chat with colleague on the phone about writing :T :T :T
Off to set the timer and carry on again for another hour or so, then stop for the weekend :j :j :j0 -
Good luck, Cheery, that "work" session looks like it was pretty grim. Cheery cha-cha-cha2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I did ALL of those things (apart from the run) in the last 2.5 hours :T :T :T Just goes to show what you can do when you pull your finger out! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: REalised the work task wasn't as much of a big deal as I was making it out to be - and I also have Monday, and its much better to write one day and revise another...
Anyway, a nicely relaxing evening beckons I think, pilates, a little light sorting out of the underwear drawer, and a nice healthy tea :T :T :T
Tomorrow is 5k park run as usual (supposedly with Mr Daffs too! :T :T), possibly WI although we might not  then having hair cut and eyebrows shaped in the afternoonThen baking, then fireworks! :T :T :T
Looking forward to it! :T :T Just need to be well rested enough to enjoy it...0 -
5k done
with Mr Daffs too
slower than previous fastest time by 7 seconds - not too bad! :j :j and beat Mr Daffs by 22 seconds, which is the important thing
Won't tell you about my very non-mse shopping trip this afternoon  :rotfl: :rotfl: Suffice to say I'll be making hummous rather than buying it for our fireworks trip tonight :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
