I know, I know! It was the last one and I won't be buying anymore honest. :o

I have to be careful of nuts as tend to go straight through me although not a nut allergy as they can be thankfully.

I'll have a look at the better yoghurts and to be honest I have found them a bit too sweet. I quite like the natural sour type yoghurt. Not sure what it is called but I will have a look on my planned shopping day.

Saturday is back to the gym day. wish me luck!

you are amazing being able to open up on here x and if there are nasty people saying horrid things about you there problem not ures, just wanted to say good luck with everything and dont let people get you down.
one more thing before i pop off i found that not eating say after 7ish in eve plus cutting down on sugar in drinks,no sweets, crisps, choccies and cut down on cheese (my weakness) it didnt fall off but i lost a few pounds plus just going out for a walk in the evenings after tea even if only round the block helped, really must do it again xx

    Update
Appointment lasted about half an hour and was with the doctor and the nurse/dietician.

The good news is that I don't need to take medication
    :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j
(sorry, just so happy right now)

The bad new is that if I don't lose the weight and change my diet then I am very likely to need medication.

My blood pressure was good as was my chlorestral level, the blood test results shows high sugar levels but they believe I can control this with a better diet. They have taken a urine sample to check my kidneys?

There was loads of advice and they were really nice.
I have a half hour appointment on tuesday with just the nurse / dietician where I have to take in a log of what I have eaten recently. She asked me to try and remember so that I take a weeks log in but as I will have fortnightly appointments with her not to worry if I can't remember.
She will then go over in more details on tuesday where we can create an eating plan type thing. I also have to do a quick blood test every week for them to check my sugar levels?

I also have an appointment in a fortnight time with the doctor to monitor blood test results with blood pressure as well followed by the dietrician appointment. This is going to be a fortnightly thing until they are happy that I don't need medication.

Right now I am a bit overwhelmed with all the info but I guess my first real change will be sitting with the dietician to look at improving my eating habits. I did ask about slimming world and they said they may be able to offer this but first they wanted me to work with my dietician.

They have given me a few websites to look at and a bit of reading matter.

I am amazed at the support that I suddenly have! And, I came out smiling which I certainly wasn't this morning.

    Day 4
Breakfast - miller light yoghurt (last one), apple, plum
snack - mini milk strawberry lolly - was bought for me without asking, didn't finish it and did say I am on a diet so hopefully no surprises like that anymore!
Lunch - chicken soup and a few walnuts
snack - cheese sandwich - was 2 slices of white bread. I will buy wholemeal in future and small sliced.
Tea - jacket potato with cheese, coleslaw and salad
couple cups of tea and water

Exercise - walked to work, walked to surgery and walked home - approx 2 1/2 miles. lovely sunny day so took a long cut through the park!

    Weight 228! OUCH

Mini milk lollies are 30 calories - about the lowest calorie treat you will find. No guilt ;-)

Sorry, but why has Silvercat's thread been merged??

I saw it as a Type 2 / diet thread, sorry BG but I think you are very wrong to merge!

It was nice for once to have a type 2 thread, as it seems there are lots of us, now it is lost in amongst a general diet thread.

    Sad and wrong move IMO
