My nearest Cineworld is £7.90 for an adult ticket.

I tend to work out entertainment in cost per hour, so if a film is 3 hours, then it's a £2.60/hour activity. Swimming, for example, is £4.50 per hour.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Tuesday and wednesdays are good if your on t mobile or orange networks so that brings the cost down and if you know soemone who has a cineworld unlimited card you can get a free ticket but that might be limited to wednesdays.

Get a printworks loyalty card and its only £6 a film. Or get a spinningfields yellow card and go to the AMC its only a fiver a film.

don't you have to be a student for that though?

Cinema has got v expensive however because I don't drink, smoke or go out generally a cinema trip once every other month isn't too bad!

£10 for an adult ticket at my local Odeon. We go about twice a year. There are a few films that are really much better at the cinema, but for most they are just as enjoyable watched at home on a good telly. They come out on dvd so quickly, often at £10 in the supermarkets when first released, that it's only worth going to the pics if it's something special like Avatar.

About £8.50 at my local Cineworld now.

I go to the movies for juniors quite a lot with my daughter. Watched Gnomeo and Juliet last week so that was a £1 each plus the kiddies popcorn box for £3.25. I don't mind paying £5.25 every other month.

Only downside is that it's at 10am and we have to get there early if we want a good seat as it gets packed so my two year old ends up having popcorn for breakfast!!
It's only a bargain if you need it.

It is expensive but personally I only go once in a blue moon so its a bit of a change. I dont mind paying over the odds as a one off it is to expected. Of course for the rest of the time, I would always wait for the blu-ray release as coming from a massive movie fan who gets through at least around 10-15 a month if its not in HD, it aint worth watching!

What do T-Mobile users get? And what does anyone get on a Tuesday?

T-Mobile and Orange are 'as one' now, so I think T-Mobile get Orange Wednesday, might be wrong mind

As for cinema prices - just paid £28 for tickets to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. It is for two people, including 3D glasses, on an IMAX screen, so I do feel it is justified. But I rarely bother with the cinema now, as it is simply easier to download a film at home. Not entirely comfortable with doing that, but I'm sick of mouthbreathers ruining the cinema experience. Last time I complained in the Odeon in Newcastle about a group of girls talking all the way through, I got told from the 'manager' that they weren't gonna move the girls because they were a group! I still don't get the logic.

My local cinema is about £9 for a standard ticket and £11 for a premium ticket. I rarely go now. There is also no free parking anywhere near the cinema so you have to add another few quid for parking on top. I don't mind sacrificing the experience of seeing a film on the big screen because my local cinema is often noisy etc. I have a lovefilm subscription instead and absolutely love that.
