ITs £9.20 to see a film Saturday night and £8.40 Monday afternoon to see Fast & Furious 5 at my local odeon, They can forget that. Will wait till it comes on DVD or i might buy sky movies for £16 extra a month and see 5 new films a week and loads of other films.

I only go on Mondays & Wednesdays now where the tickets are £3.80 each, thanks to Reel.

    3D are £2 extra, but I don't do 3D.

With the latest releases available for under £10 on pre-order, it makes sense to wait to the film comes out on DVD, true you lose the "experience" but you gain a disc you can watch time and time again
  • I took my daughter to see Tangled in 3D when it first came out, it was her first cinema trip and she was sooo excited. The tickets for us both cost £20!!! then popcorn and a drink was another £7. luckily i made a trip to £land before we went to the cinema to buy her a fruitshoot as they sell them in packs of 4, the cinema wanted £1.70 for 1!!!!!!!!!!! it was worth it as my daughter loved it (so did i lol, the film was great) but bloody hell it was an expensive trip! I have the dvd on preorder and that only cost £11.99.

Cinema's are getting expensive but if you compare them to similar duration events e.g sporting events, theatre shows, pop concerts etc. They are still very good value for money. For less than a tenner each you can have a good night out. DVD's and Blu-rays are good but you have to have a very good home set up to compare it to a cinema experience!

I don't bother going any more. They've won. We have a nice big TV with 5.1 surround sound and sky HD so it's better at home. Beside who wants to pay £8 for one ticket to go to have a bunch of chavs texting and calling their friends on their mobile throughout the movie. What's the point?

A funny thing though, quite a while ago we went to the cinema and I was a bit thirsty so asked for a bottle of water. The person wentoff and came back with the most pathetic looking bottle, no brand name, and then asked for about£2.50. Comedy. I said i'd changed my mind. Help cinemas to go out of business, they deserve it.

At least cinemas are comfortable now and have decent leg room.

I reckon they get half the seats in each direction that the old flea pits used to squeeze in so that's a quarter the number of seats in total and that's bound to cost more.

Yeah, I pay £9.20 for the 'cinema experience'. Getting my seat kicked from behind by morons; idiots who can't cope without looking at their brightly lit mobiles, noisy sweet wrappers and popcorn chewing, and then there's the whisperers. No wonder pirating is on the increase.

My local AMC only charges £4 for films in the morning and discount cards are available through various means to get in anytime for £4.80.
