Outcome:
Chicken with asparagus - 2 small piecs - Bland
Potatoes in rosemary - Bland
Cheesecake - not all that
Chardonnay - tasted like cheap wee.
Only thing that was at all nice about my dinner tonight was the Finest French beans I brought separately for 2 quid to accompany the meal,
I guess they only tasted good because I tossed them in butter and garlic, or I imagine they would have been as bland as the rest.
Not really worth the £4 - heaven know what people who paid £10.00 for it thought!!!
Well I guess it is all down to opinion - we have had all of these things and found them great - i really loved the potatoes! guess some people can't be happy with anything!I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j

On a totally unrelated issue . . . .
Tonight I was in and buying a few items, when putting the products on the belt I noticed that the jar of honey lid stated "use before (or by) Feb 2011" so I lifted it and put it aside deciding not to purchasr it.
How do things stand about stores selling out of date produce?
Having tried to keep up to date with this thread and while waiting on my meal deal vouchers, I'm thinking if they are gonna play silly !!!!!!s with us then maybe we should stop being reasonable with them.
If I had bought the Honey (which wasn't cheap) and then got home and noticed this - what redress would I have?
Who would I report it to and what could they have done?
Something similar to this happens quite often and I usually set the product aside and pick an alternative with a good date but it happens often enough, what if we were to raise this each time?
Be it Honey or Bread or Bacon or Eggs - maybe we should not just ignore it, are there any websites that gather this sort of info and act on it.
Nowt really to do with this thread but I thought I'd drop it in here for the more "learned" among you to consider.
Raven
Raven it probably actually said 'BEST BEFORE' on the honey as it's a long life product - Honey has actually been found in Egyptian Tombs 2000-4000 yrs old and is still useable.
As for selling it past the 'best before' date I think they can sell it - lots of B&M stores have stuff past their best before dates BUT they do normally tell you it's past that date. Places like Approved Food sell this stuff normally & it's normally fine to eat way after the before before date.
It's the SELL BY date or EAT/COMSUME BY date that is FAR more important on things like yogurt, eggs, bread, chicken as these things can & do go off - although I'll eat yogurt and eggs(water tested) after their sell by dates if they still look OK.
If you had bought then you'd more than likely have gotten a refund or replacement if you took back.
Our government, in it's wisdom? has agreed that BEST BEFORE dates can now be scrapped so in the future we won't have the luxury of OOD food at knock down prices.0 -
I have just submitted last Friday's receipt into the price checked and yet again it is telling me that they cannot find my receipt. The receipt also had other shopping on it too. I originally entered my details at lunch time last Friday, that's nearly a week ago and I am getting annoyed now with Tesco.
I am still waiting for an email from a Saturday and a Monday receipt, only with the meal purchased, 1 with club card, 1 without both different emails. I've not had a reply to say they can't find these either but I'm not holding out much hope.
I bought a meal in a different store on Friday night and voucher came through on Saturday so don't know why there is a problem but I am annoyed at Tesco's attitude.
I have complained to the ASA and about to contact Tesco with my comments.:mad:Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
Has anyone had any results back from their price check at all this week please?0
