Hi everyone!
Will backtrack and read your doings shortly but hugs to all.
Well the Chrimbo plans seem to be slowly falling into place. All the cards are now written and just awaiting stamps. OH very kindly addressed them all last night for me. Ahh bless! We will get the pressies down tomorrow out of the loft and start wrapping once the small person is safely snoring his head off.
A couple of bits of domestic trivia have left me rather pleased. I managed to get the small person a pair of swanky silver trainers in the sale at Clarks to put away. I thought the colour might raise an eyebrow but the small person has inspected them and having established that yes they have groovy orange lights in the heel they'll do. On the same whizz round the town I ran into my friend for whom I knitted the fluffy scarf for her 40th. Hadn't heard anything so wasn't sure if my first attempt at an OS HM pressie had gone down well or not...there she was with a very familiar scarf wrapped round her neck. I'd managed to choose the colours I thought she liked and she hadn't even realised that I'd made it:j So many thanks Oldstylers for giving me the confidence to give it a whirl. Am now sorely tempted to make one for myself or shall I knit a dishcloth. Ooh decisions, decisions!!
OS today has been bed changing, clean towels, dark load hung out, general muck out and loo/sink clean. Tonight I have the joys of a trip to Mr T and OH is making a leek and potato pie. Tomorrow I'm working in the morning and on Sun we're off to see my lovely SIL and her family. Can't wait to see her!
HAve a marvellous weekend

Praying for rain tomorrow so I can get the day off! Otherwise I'll be working all weekend. Taking Monday off work as Nan's gotta go into hospital, so I'll stay in with the dog to keep him calm
Can't wait for 6.15 when I go home

 Afternoon all.
Sitting here feeling quite christmassy. Most of the office is off at the christmas lunch, but I've got loads to do. Never mind, I'm on the team one next week. Just need to think of somewhere for us to go.
Happy Birthday Joanna:T
MUST do some christmas cards tonight - I haven't even started.
And I've got to finish the door curtain I began on monday - good grief, how long does it take to sew a few straight lines. TBH it's not the sewing that takes me time, it's the measuring and pinning etc.
Also got to finish knitting the christmas fairy for the tree. Then I can finish DSs christmas jumper. I have to get going on all these jobs.
Tree up tomorrow. Should be fun.
Oooh - I'll have to look out for that Colin Firth thing.
DH is out tonight at his christmas do (partly why I'm not at mine). So I should get peace to do some of the jobs above. And get to watch a trashy film. Unfortunately no vino for me as I'm on a diet (working - 8 pounds so far!), but it'll be worth it, and I'll get more done.

Like BIG cat, little cat and Stranger Cat she comes and goes on demand.
Pooky - love your room.
It used to be sheep and dairy farming around here, but mainly it's horses now.

We are back from a very welcome change of scene, went to Chester for 2 days, spent yesterday wandering around the towm, lovely. but I spent £91 on new bed linen:eek:  I had been loooking for some for ages and saw just what I wanted in the Grosvenor centre....... so splashed out......its at least 15 years since I bought the last lost so felt it was justified.......
We stayed in a travel lodge £26 a night, and found pubs with good grub to eat in for under £10 for the two of us, so we are both feeling refreshed after the change.
Came home to find a message from the water board, they wanted to come yesterday to mend the leak, tough luck!!! we were away, so have phoned to rearrange the appointment, waiting for them to ring me back.
So now its back to OS, I had a message to say the book was on its way, so will look forward to that, have to get myself into gear to start baking mincepies etc for the hols.......need to wrap the pressies that are going to the US this weekend and get them to the post on Monday.
Visiting a friend tomorrow, will take her pressie in case I do not get over to see her again before the holidays.
Right off for a cuppa and a pice of cinnamon bread.................

My WM came:j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j ....and looks lovely...still in the wrapper:rotfl: poor OH will have to do that later but has to empty the utility room before he can plumb it in.
Off to my sisters tomorrow where she is cooking us a special dinner and get to have our anniversary pressies:D ...its an hour journey but I love seeing her and the nephew and niece. My niece is a scream...6 going on 60! Shes red headed so you can imagine the rest.....so gobby:rolleyes: Should see folks too.

happy friday everyone and hug to the poorly people.
Pooky-i like your lounge! Am so envious of people with their own houses and can decorate to their tastes as I rent. And probably will forever it seems-London prices + single academic's salary = cardboard box or shed! The BF could only afford his place cos he inheriated a fair amount when his dad died.
two more hours of work and then me and my work pals are going to finish up the wine left over from the MSc students Christmas lunch. It would appear they are a very well behaved lot (well, better behaved than us post docs, lecturers and PhD students) as there is loads of it left
.
tomorrow will spent helping the BF tile his bathroom and manhandling new furniture about, then to a friends for a christmas party.0
