    Morning everyone Hope you're well

anniebooklover - Hope you're on the road to recovery. Sounded nasty.

Penny Watcher - Thanks for reminding me about flapjacks. I need to bake some very soon.

It's clear and sunny here. Great! Better than the miserable weather so far this month.

Was going to have a lie-in today but BIG cat got me up so then the usual: feed both him and penninewoman (and outdoor Stranger Cat) and let both out . . . . :)

Then dropped off prescription at health centre; drew some money out; surprised butcher with early visit (she doesn't usually see me before mid-day :) ); bought Guardian, local paper, and TES; put up the cards we've received so far; replaced dud 10W bulb in hall; checked email and replied where necessary; came here.

Now better go out and buy some more10W bulbs and a USB cable for new keyboard.

    Have a good day all.

    Happy Christmas (I think)

Just got home to find a letter from the North Pole on the mat for DS2 (aged nearly 10). When do they stop believing? nothing any of his classmates say will convince him there is no FC. He writes two separate lists - one for FC and one for family:rotfl: He posted his FC list to the North Pole last week, hence the letter. His main justification for the existance of Father Christmas is that 'your parents wouldn't spend all that money on stuff for stockings'. Maybe we're a bit too generous with the stocking fillers:rolleyes: It is hard, because I tell him we can't afford things like Nintendos for Christmas presents (because of having to buy all the stocking fillers:D ). His older brother who's 11, has only just worked FC out and of course DD aged 6 is a complete believer.:santa2: :santa2: :santa2:

Does that mean that penninewoman is usually confined to quarters :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • Good Morning All

Have missed the thread for a couple days so not up to date on the news so hope everyone is ok (((hugs))) for those who need them & get well to everyone under the weather.

Its wet and extremely miserable here in Essex, am just about to go and collect DD from school and take her to her new orthodontist, hopefully she will be getting her braces soon. Have only emptied the DW this morning as had computer man round to sort kids computers - all done now.

If DD is good then going to pop to the Saddlery shop on the way home as she needs some new jodphurs - buying any form of trousers for here is a nightmare as she is soo tall and skinny. (It wont last forever - I was like that once.lol)

Being naughty and having fish and chips takeaway tonight but its been a mad hectic week and the weekend looks like it is going to be very busy too so feel that it is a necessity today.

So not much done on house tidying, washing or ironing front this week so praps unsurprisingly will be ironing and washing all day tomorrow. (Once football and horseriding is out of the way anyway)

Anyway must dash - enjoy friday and have a great weekend all.

penny watcher - oh goodness - so sorry! I know you said he was rushed into hospital, but wasnt expecting this! can I ask what happened? ((hugs))x

Hi Shez, ah - no - it wasn't him that passed away :o , it was his lady friend. Complications after a simple operation. Worst thing is this is the third partner he's lost in that last 12 years (OH's Mum, then a couple of years later his new wife died, and now this lady). Poor soul thinks his jinxed

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Have hung three machine loads of washing on the line outside.

Dishes are in the machine whirring away and have put a huge load of pea and veg soup in the slow cooker.

Waiting for the post to arrive as I got an e-mail saying "Thrifty Ways" was on its way to me. Lately the post has been arriving at 1,30 p.m. or even a bit later.

Yesterday we got no post at all which never happens - so waiting impatiently now.

Have just started to knit the third fluffy scarf.

York has been flooded and there are several flood warnings in North Yorkshire.

Hugs to all and welcome to our "new" Annie and hugs to anniebooklover - do not let yourself get dehydrated. Even little bits of ice to suck would help.
