    Hello everybody,

I came on earlier but felt all queasy. I feel fine now so whatever turned my stomach seems to have left. Hope you feel better Annie, that sounds awful.
DGS had another bad night's sleep so DH & I were really struggling today with work. Had french toast, bacon & baked beans for tea. :D I didn't have the energy for much else. Going to have an early night tonight.

I looked up Resturant Rules but found nothing remotely interesting about the other contestants. They just tend to fade away don't they. Well off to do the dishes. (((((((((hugs))))))))) to those that need them. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning All

Just a quick one again this morning as I'm feeling relatively sick free this morning and need to get on while it lasts. Its DD 2nd birthday today I cant beleive how quick it has gone. This time 2 years ago I was trying to feed my 2 hour old baby.

The in-laws will be round later so I need to get on and get tidyed up and also make some Weetabix brownies to give them with a cup of tea. They still dont know about the new baby and I still dont want to tell them so I need be carefull not to throw up while there here.

    Have a good day everyone

  • Morning all - hope all those poorly feel better soon and good news about your children Kyle and Taplady.

Woke at 5.30 with knees and couldn't get back to sleep, which was a pain as DH didn't have to go to work until 7.45 instead of 4.50. He usually wakes me up but my body clock obviously had decided it was time for me to get up.

DS1 has a days off work today so I've declared it a days holiday for us all so that DS2 can enjoy having him home with us and they can catch up on some serious computer time! (as can I :T )

Didn't get my bread sauce made yesterday as dad arrived in morning for a natter and mum turned up mid-morning and stayed till time to collect DS1 from work. Still, lovely fun day. Took her shopping for a mobile phone. Was expecting it to take ages - took her nearly 25 mins to choose a lipstick shade first  - however she chose it in mins and let me put it on my Tesco card for the clubcard points. :)

What took the time was her choosing her ringtone. Gezzz I went through the lot, she took notes on her favourites, eventually shortlisted it to 5, ran through them several times more until she had to choose between coolchick, lizard lounge and latin beat. She got all flustered despite me telling her I could change it once a week if she needed, it was no now or never decision, but finally she opted for latin beat. Well happy- she played it over and over. It was like having a toddler in the house with a new annoying toy. I love my mum to bits but it was a relief when dad came and took her home.

    Have a fruitful friday all.

    Morning everybody :hello:

Happy birthday to joannasmum's DD (or should I say to Joanna :D)

Well I retrieved my Amex card from Robert Dyas where I'd left it, bought an iron and a stick blender (Braun of course, thanks to all the tips on that thread on this board :D), and NEARLY left the flippin' card in the machine AGAIN!!! :rotfl: For some reason, unlike other shops, they don't seem to make sure you've got your card back at the same time as you get your receipt...

I'm really looking forward to tonight - it will be only my second evening at home since I moved in 15 days ago  and the FIRST with something comfy to sit on while I watch TV :D However, I do need to do some serious organising over the weekend - I want to get rid of (or at least stack tidily) enough of my boxes to enable me to work out where to put a Christmas tree. Also I need to get to grips with how my heating works, so as to strike a happy medium between (a) freezing and (b) bankrupting myself paying to charge up my heaters on peak time electricity. The Utilities forum's got loads of advice about Economy 7 - must pop back over there and have a look. Plus my phone should be being connected tomorrow, so hopefully I will be able to get online at home via dialup for the next few weeks while I get a broadband account organised.

Also need to write my Christmas cards and work out what I'm having for Christmas dinner - plus the infamous Threshers voucher expires tomorrow so I need to work out if there's anything I need that I can use it on. TBH I'm pretty much OK for wine and bubbly, which is what the voucher is valid for - it's spirits I need (stocking up on spirits is built into my Christmas budget, because there are always such good deals on).

anniebooklover - yeeeech, that sounds nasty! I hope you're feeling better soon.

Paulie'sGirl - you're quite new on here aren't you, I always spot the ones from Durham because that's where I was born and raised :) My mum still lives there, in Belmont, but as soon as my brother finishes university she's planning to leave and "downsize" to somewhere nearer London so she's mortgage-free and not so far away from the rest of the family.

Penny Watcher - hugs to your FIL ((hugs))

Penelope Penguin - glad your choir concert went well :) My church doesn't have decs up yet either - normally they go up after the morning service on the final Sunday of Advent, ready for our carol service in the evening - though this year that would be Christmas Eve so I think we'll be putting them up on the 17th which is when we're having the carol service this year.

Right, better go - hope everybody's OK and I'll probably be back later :)

    Love Rzl xx

  • Oh heck! I've just remembered what was prodding at the back of my mind but I couldn't quite place. My MOT is booked for 3pm this afternoon.
    How could I forget that?
DH arranged for me to sit in the office and have a read as my knees won't walk me back home while they do it. Sounds idealic reading for an hour in peace but the reality is that my stomach will be churning waiting for them to pass sentence on the car.
I was so happy this morning, too. :(

This was a Methodist church where we haven't sung before. The choir master says that being invited somewhere is nice, but it's being invited back that counts. :D Our local methodist church has a tree competition - local groups are invited to decorate a tree (on a theme - this year was Christmas carols). When I went to DD's Guide service earlier in the week there were 20 trees   in this one, so to go somewhere with no decs was a big shock.

Can't complain, though. Our tree is still in the ground, and will be for another 2 weeks. We decorate the weekend before christmas.

    Happy Birthday Joanna! 13_10_6.gif

Well, today I have an appointment with the Head Teacher at the school, but she can only make 2pm! no other day or time:rolleyes: (very accommodating dont you think?) - do they realise that some other people do have to go to work aswell? or should the world revolve around teachers? personally I think its a "power game" they like to play, think themselves so important. I might just cancel and put in a letter of complaint instead! see how I feel...
For all those who have littleuns - this is the joy you get when they start going to school!:o

cheerfulness4 - now how your feel!!! I took my mum shopping last nite, it was hard work! took me twice as long, in the end I was so caught up with her shopping that I forgot what I had to get! - probably have to go back to get things i forgot! I got home about 9.15! evening was gone by then! you gotta laugh though havent you! bless her, would be without her xx

Edit: sorry I forgot to say happy belated birthday wishes to queenie! x
