NO...Cyclists don't ride on pavements or jump red lights at all.

I spotted this whilst looking for something else. It proves there are some very dangerous and idiot road users out their.

Still rather a cyclist coming down the pavement than this.

Drivers and cyclists all do the same things (running reds etc etc), but the difference is 2 tonne of metal versus 80-150kg of bike + rider.

Perhaps drivers do these things less frequently, but the likelihood of causing death or serious injury is far far greater.

My point was not to start a battle about car drivers do silly things, my point was that we are constantly told, by the Lycra association, that cyclists are the pinnacle of virtue when it comes to road craft.

Fair enough, I was pre-empting the inevitable all out attack on cyclists that will surely follow.
Nobody could call them all virtuous though, pretty hard "fact" to swallow when you consider how many kids/teenagers have bikes.

I have seen that before, but these "citizens" are doing this on purpose. The "Silly Cyclist" video show those who do this without thinking, assuming they can do what they like, because they are on a bicycle.

The majority of cyclists are good and considerate - we have to be.

There are silly drivers too - like the one that pulled out of a road right in front of me then stopped when she saw me, I managed to stop about 4 inches away from the drivers door and she went a whiter shade of pale! What beats me is I always wear a high vis jacket or vest she should have seen me.

Or the police car that opened his door on me (could not ride far enough out to clear it due to traffic) and did not even apologise. And no he was not on an emergency call, he went into a takeaway.

Or the person that pulled out in front of me causing me to break a brake cable.

Or the lorry that cut me up so badly I had to jump off my bike.

I could continue with the list. There are bad cyclists, but there seems to be plenty of bad drivers to go round too.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I think what makes cyclists the most dangerous of road users, is the fact that a lot of them don't obey the rules of the road, are cyclists one second, and pedestrians the next etc.
It's just the totally unexpected ridiculous actions they perform, i.e. riding along the road one minute, and then crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing whilst still cycling.
I acknowledge that their potential for damage is much less than a car, but if they make a car swerve into an oncoming vehicle, they might just as well be driving a car because of the damage caused. Of course, they just keep going, and leave devastation in their wake.

    Always watch them like Hawks!

I don't think there is enough room in one post for me to list the number of times I have come across cyclist behaving foolishly. But the point is, the holier-than-thou attitude taken by the two wheeled warriors when their misdemeanours are pointed out.

Driving into Nottingham last Friday afternoon, coming up to roundabout (2 lanes at entrance to r/bout), I'm about 50 metres from it, see cyclist on road 3' from nearside kerb so I slow down as it's his right of way. We all stop (including the cyclist in his speed hat and obviously very expensive clothing etc). Off we all go and I hang back as it's still his right of way and we go round all nice and steady and onto A52 Nottingham Knight part when I look, indicate and wait for space to go past cyclist... gap appears, indicate and pull out when said cyclist pulls straight across in front of me and goes round the roundabout heading to West Bridgford.... Fockers!
