Flyboy, I am finding your sweeping statements really offensive! I don't usually post on these things but it is attitudes like yours that make the roads more dangerous by trying to justify inconsiderate treatment of the cyclist and encouraging people to be intolerant of cyclists. Many drivers communicate their dislike of cyclists by driving too close, revving at red lights, undertaking, and many of us have had the misfortune to be hit by cars- in my experience both times the driver was on their mobile and I came off worse than the car. I have even been spat at by a pedestrian for ringing my bell! When pedestrians are walking along cycling paths, this is NEVER an act of aggression, but for mutual benefit, and a means of communication. But attitudes like yours interpret all actions by cyclists as being against car drivers/pedestrains. We really just want to share the roads, sensibly. It is very dangerous out there and mutual respect is the way to manage that.

Of course there are bad cyclists/drivers/pedestrians, but most of us aim to be good cyclists/drivers/pedestrians and attitudes like yours just don't help the situation.

Enjoyed that video. Love the abusive comments in the video too.

    That was some riding there.

I think what makes cyclists the most dangerous of road users, is the fact that a lot of them don't obey the rules of the road, are cyclists one second, and pedestrians the next etc.

Perhaps, you could provide the statistics to support your statement.

Just for some balance, although it was initially reported that this video had been enhanced, it's not so easy to enhance the red light jumping, also the speed of the film doesn't seem to have been tampered with as other road users appear to be travelling at a more sedate speed and the pigeon that nearly gets hit takes off at a normal rate, no manipulation here!

Turns out, the idiot made it and posted it on Youtube himself!

How come theres hardly anyone about? All the scots hungover in bed?

If you were gonna edit the video, you'd at least make yourself look good at handling the car. His cornering and racing line was shocking :D

How dare you, not wishing to propagate a national stereotype, but, when was the last time you seen or heard of a drunk scotsman!

Kind of ironic that the vid linked in the OP is made by a cyclist with the intention of improving cyclists behaviour by pointing out bad cycling...
And that number one is a clip of a cyclist literally being nearly killed by a lorry, presumably driven by a professional, turning left without indicating.

Judging by your post count, it seems you don't usually post very much at all. ;)

I don't think so, it is the cyclists, on the Youtube channel "Silly Cyclists," who are the ones who are doing a very good job of that themselves.
Many drivers communicate their dislike of cyclists by driving too close, revving at red lights, undertaking, and many of us have had the misfortune to be hit by cars- in my experience both times the driver was on their mobile and I came off worse than the car.

That is not communictaing anything to you, that is bad driving.

How is that anything to with drivers?

Trouble is though, too many want to share the pavements as well. Have you not watched the Youtube channel?

And the attitudes of the Lycra-clad two-wheeled warriors don't help very much either. Take a look at the "Crazy bikerace through London" link earlier, does that promote much of a good perspective of cyclists?

We are continuously inundated with the rhetoric that cyclists don't do the things shown on that video and when it is proven that they do, we get told that is all the drivers' faults for pointing it out in the first place.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Sorry, but I can't sign up to something in order to watch it.

I notice that the driver was arrested etc., why were the "Crazy racers not arrested?" Where was the police investigation there?

That's not irony, that is merely focusing on one aspect of the objective of the video.
