Just wanted to say how awful for you. We had a couple of scary incidents and it is utterly awful. My experience of hospitals was that parents did leave quite small children in some cases. One of us always stayed for our DS. There was one little girl and her parents just didn't show up until lunchtime, well after the docs had been around, she was lonely and cried when they left. It was heartbreaking.....

Glad he is ok. I know that this sounds odd but you can buy something that literally sucks the snot out of their little noses. You attach it, I kid you not, to the vaccum cleaner.... That said, it worked. My DD sounds like earthlet, she was a very phlegmy baby and it made her sick and we ended up in hospital one day when she was struggling for breath. I got it from ebay and it did work. Truly yucky but it did work!

I will leave you with the visual!

Thanks for the suggestion, what age did you use the vacuum thing? Any idea what it was called?I could use one myself!

Had a much better day today. Although I can't remember when I actually last properly slept, the main thing is that earthlet is ok.

Had a bit of a funny incident at school, the assistant head apologised for the heads attitude to me being off for a day with the baby being in hospital, before he'd even said anything to me. He said it just incase someone else reported to me that the head was mad with me as I didn't phone into school, I text my head of department (oh was supposed to phone at 7.30am but forgot 'till 8.30) as I wasn't going to leave the baby to go outside the ward to phone. Apparently everybody else thought he was well out of order to be even imagining that I'd phone the school.

I don't really care as I knew he was selfish and heartless anyway!

I have done loads of marking today, got about 6 more papers to be on target to clear my back log.

Earthlet is fine and thats all that matters!

Wow you've had a lot going on. So glad Earthlet is ok. You can get little 'pumps' from Mr T that kind of suck the secretions out of their nose. If you want the exact name let me know and I will find out as my friend has one. If you're still breastfeeding/still have milk try squirting some up his nose as that might clear the secretions.

I don't understand why at times OH are so thoughtless but they all have their moments.

Hope you get your marking finished, you'll feel so much better when it is out of the way. And as for washing, I often dress myself out of the clean washing basket so you are definitely not alone in having baskets of washing not put away.

  • No one in their right mind would leave baby alone to call school, its not as though he had a bit of a sniffle, it was a real emergency.

Glad he is ok, bet you can get one of those nose thingies on amazon.

Thanks, thats what I thought! It was a bit wierd cause the assistant head did't actually have to tell me that he said that, its all just a bit odd.

Anyway I sent a job application off on Friday for a promotion to head of department. Don't think I'll get it as I have no experience, but this is the start of me trying to get that experience, and also trying to get out of this area - they are merging 2 schools in 2013ish, so I might as well try to get out before then.

I had a good day yesterday, despite oh being away. I managed to mark 19 papers, and kept things tidy. I ate at a neighbours house, and then the baby slept from 10pm till almost 7 am so I am feeling bright and breezy today! My tutee cancelled and has rebooked for today.

I want to get back on the money saving wagon, I have been a little lax with being in hospital and having all the papers to mark.

    Today I am going to
    - use reuasble nappy liners
    - make baby his own food instead of using jars.
    - make cakes for the week.
    - pack own tea bags and hot choc - (I bought a couple of hot chocs out of the machine this week for a total of 75p!)
    - finish marking another 25 if possible
    - finish cleaning
    - one tutoring client
    - phone other interested tutoring clients
    -upload shop and scan reciept
    - do some gardening (ok think this is out of the question, but you never know!)

Maybe the asst. head just thought it sounded better coming from them, rather than someone else breaking their neck to tell you. We all have seen people like that haven't we.

Good luck getting that list done today.

    Thanks. Most of it done.

OH has suggested a sunshine holiday for the 3 of us in Feb. Where can we go thats safe for the baby and good value? Are package hols best, or should I look for appartments? So out of practise with this holiday thing!

Today I need to finish marking at least 10 papers, and I have a tutoring class after school too.

I must pop my head into the green house as well.

Wish I could spend more time reading diaries but I just can't withthis marking :(
