Oh Earthy! How terrifying for you! I hope it's nothing serious. I've got an amazing book called toddler taming which I bought when ds1 was a pudding and it says in there that some toddlers like to hold their breath during a tantrum as it's a sure fire way to get the everyone's complete attention. I'm not remotely suggesting that this is what earthlet is doing as he's a bit young for something so deliberate but I do really hope it's something as 'trivial' as this. Sorry I just can't think of a better word, I'm not suggesting there's anything close to trivial about it.
Enjoy being looked after by your mum. I know you won't listen
 but you're allowed to send your exam papers back and phone in sick for Monday.

Hugs earthgirl, that sounds so frightening. Here's hoping it doesn't happen again. I second courgette's idea of a duvet day

Hello,
That sounds frightening - I hope you had a really good weekend. I know you were marking but that is not so bad if you know you are getting it done - even though it is work you feel better for keeping on top of it. Mine is due on Tuesday but I know I won't be finished. I think it will be Friday, but so be it. Not the end of the world and I probably wouldn't get to the post office with them until Saturday anyway.
All the best for a better week,

Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
I keep being really worried about the comment I made about toddlers holding their breath. All I meant was sometimes small things can have really dramatic results but the underlying cause can be quite easy to deal with.
Hope you've had a lovely weekend. I know too that being super busy really sustains you I just meant look after yourself :AUpdating soon...0 -

Don't be silly, I know exactly what you mean!!
I think it might be this too, but just not so deliberate like a toddler - an over exaggerated response to something he deems as unpleasant, like being passed from me to another person, or being sick or something.
I was tempted to have a day off, but I would feel bad as we are ok really. He seems to be getting a bit better in terms of his cold.
Thanks for your reponses and advice everyone, I hope we get it sorted on his return appointment at the hospital.
I have received £50 of quidco, £100 for changing banks ages ago, £90 for my translation work the weekend of the Christening, and I should get £15 rewards for the current accounts - I have been madly moving £500 around to qualify!!
On Monday, acter the exam marking, I plan to do a round of banking so that I can get all my figures sorted out, I'd love to make my £2,000 target but I haven't been very on the ball this month with what I needed to make.:eek:15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Good luck with this months target, you will just see your fund grow and grow!
DD had a couple of occasions where she would randomly vomit once overnight. Nursery staff told me that they have seen a lot of babies do this and that they make themselves sick. I think these babies have more control than we give them credit for.Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0 -
Well I couldn't wait for the end of the marking, I have done my banking this morning. I have easily made my £2,000 target this month, and I have £300 in my current account as a slush fund, and £375 tutoring money to bank - this will go towards Julys total.
I think I will try to make July August and Septembers savings £3,000 per month, as I have no childcare to pay for (already paid Septembers as a deposit) This will be quite tough as we are going away on holiday, and tutoring is always slow in the holidays. On the upside, I won't be spending much on petrol, and I can make more food from scratch and get our food bills right down. I will also have about £1,000 for the marking I am doind just now.
If I do this, by September I will have saved £14,000 of my £33,000 total that I am aiming to hit next May.
Right off to do the marking as I have already mentally banked the payment!!
I will do my next hundred and enter them on the system and post. I will then try to do a further 20 papers, leaving 60 to do Friday - Sunday, and I will enter the final marks on Sunday, in plenty of time I hope!! phew!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Well done on hitting your target and it's fab to think you could save so much by September. It must feel brilliant being mortgage free and saving for your new dream home (which will also be mortgage free).
Good luck with the marking. Hope earthlet is well too.Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0
