Olympic tickets

From what they're saying about "contingency" seats, it sounds as if a percentage of tickets is being held back across the board until all the venues have been tested. That's a lot of tickets still to be released and probably some good sessions in among them, so no reason to despair just yet. Especially if the bidders who missed out twice get first choice. For anyone with tickets for the games, advanced train tickets are on sale now instead of waiting for 12 weeks before the event. Prices look pretty much as they would do for a normal advanced ticket. On sale here

As my son really wanted to go to the Olympics, I tried various sites to get some. No success in the UK first round, the German site was a nightmare, but the French site seemed OK. I applied for 2 sports, and got an email confirming that I had been successful. The transaction was authorised on my Visa debit card for the full amount, so I sat back happy.
Then, days before the UK second round, the authorisation dropped off my account, without the money being taken. I emailed the French site with no response, so assumed that the money would not then be taken, as they would need my security code to proceed. So, I applied for the UK second round.
I was successful again, but days before the UK started taking money, some of the money (not all) was taken by the French. They replied to an email days later to tell me that I had only been successful in one sport, not both.
So, what to do? Well, the UK ticket allocation made more sense, giving 3 sports in 4 days, plenty of time to sightsee too. But the French tickets overlap UK ones, but are the same sport as another day. If I keep the French tickets, I end up with 2 sports on the same day, probably with insufficient time to get between the sites.
Ideally, I would like to resell the French ones, so that we have one sport a day and get to see 3 sports on different days. Having emailed the UK site, I can't resell the tickets through them, because I didn't buy them via the UK. The French, however, have no plans to arrange re-selling. So, I can't sell the tickets, despite the fact that there was excess demand and the fact that the UK has asked foreign organisations to give them any unused tickets.
If anyone can figure out how I can legally resell the French tickets, please let me know.

Hello Angus,
I'm assuming it was you (going by your username) who was mentioned in the Telegraph story today written by Jacquelin Magnay re: the change in LOCOG's T&Cc regarding the official resale site.
A rather obsessed group of Olympic tickets hunters on Twitter (there's about 100 or so of us who have bought from all over EU) knew a fair while back that the official resale site would in all likelihood only include LOCOG/UK-bought tickets.
My advice to you would be to join our gang and you should be able to get rid of them somehow. We don't want any dodgy stuff going on, and we are NOT sellers or touts. Simply, we were all disappointed after the LOCOG Round 1 ballot in April/May so migrated to Twitter which has been a godsend in finding out how we could be London2012 tickets.
Many people on there have commented on how they have applied for the same tickets in parallel (eg via ballot AND via say, Co-Sport) in the knowledge that if, like you, they ended up with duplicates, the demand would (EVENTUALLY) be such that they'd have no problem in getting rid of them (NOT for profit of course).
So, PM me if you wish, get on Twitter and follow the likes of @volshy and definitely @pearcesport (James Pearce of BBC).
Cheers

Travellingbum, why didn't you include the link that was in that email text you copied?
For anyone who wants to take advantage of that offer, here is the missing link.0
