I didn't get my athletics tickets, even though I had confirmation email at 0623. Really disappointed and annoyed.
How can a session have 'good availability' then be sold out so quickly.

We got athletics and the hockey on the 7th August. Missed out on the athletics on the 9th. I think the only reason we got the 7th was that we went for the £150 ones, not £95 like the 9th. Luckily we got hockey on the same day as the athletics so just one set of travelling needed. Sorry you missed out this round! Fingers crossed they release more next year!
  • I got my basketball tickets but missed out on the 2 athletic events. Hopefully I can tickets to one more event when further are released.

Got our tickets for two athletics session, 8th-9th Aug (had them in the basket at 6:01am), but haven't got confirmation until 6:21am. After I have seen that several people missed out at 6:23am, we feel that we got very lucky. I still think though the whole system was very poorly managed and could have been handled in a better way, as Martin suggested.
  • Shame that London Olympics didn't get the golf, which is part of the next Olympics after London.

Pity...cos UK is the home of golf so it would have been great to have hosted this event. I say that it is a shame cos people can just turn up at the event, pay at the entrance and then enjoy the golf for the whole day. I have been to loads of pro golf tournaments (including several British Opens and that is the biggest golf tournament in the world) and have always got in. I am off to Sandwich next month to watch this year's Open.

It is a shame cos anyone, who hasn't got a ticket for the 2012 Olympics, could have just gone to the golf instead.

Mind you the LOGOC would have probably charged rip-off prices to watch the golf as they have done with many of the sports.

Talking of the LOGOC, have you soon what they are doing to the residents in Weymouth ? There are building a wall around the 430,000 sq ft Northe Gardens to prevent the residents watching the sailing during the Olympics. More shame and disgrace on the LOGOC; especially as they have sold all tickets for the sailing.

we ended up getting some tickets in the second round - not my first picks (or in my top 10!) but wanted to go. this article says:

"Over a million new tickets will be offered to the British public next year from contingency seats, once venues are tested and licensed, and we aim to get as many of these tickets as possible into the hands of customers who have missed out to date."

does this mean buying two tickets last week (after not get any out of 20-odd in the first draw) will mean i will automatically get nowt in the next round?! i know there's only a slim chance of getting tickets to anything big anyway, but i hope i haven't inadvertently made myself ineligible.....
