Rescues also have lots of staffie puppies. :(

Have you looked on dogpages forum or dogsblog? Pages and pages and pages of unwanted dogs and pups: hundreds of them :(

    http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/index.php?act=idx

    2 staff pups for example:

Oh this one is a cutie: staffie x scottie :)

Darlyd, please don't be too hard on him (or yourself). You are both still grieving, but in different ways. Can you try to get him to agree to a delay of say a week or two before you make a decision about getting a puppy? You may both feel differently in that time.

    Hugs for you.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!

Epilepsy is common in Breed dogs, here is what to do if your dog has a fit, ( starts coughing, collapses, claws at the floor and runs on the spot laid down,) find the smallest space you can lock them into with no glass, drag the dog in to that area and lock them in, when they come round they will be blind, then they will panic as life signs come on 1 by 1, the survival animal instinct comes back on line before the I am your friend one and a dog recovering from a fit can attack and kill you.
One by one life signs return, then the dog will be in emergency wolf escape mode, hence the locking in a small room, then they fall asleep and wake up with a huge hangover, give them water and leave them alone for a hour or two, then a bath may be in order as they empty anal glands.
Then book a vets appointment, anti epilepsy medication is expensive and damages the dogs liver, if the fits are not that often, you can manage them, however you need to know the cause.
What can cause them, this is the opinion of a gun dog owner, choke chains,NO NO ! cut of the Air and disrupt brain oxygen, the fit usually follows a few hours later, pulling on Leads and choking as well, If your dog has fits use a harness, stress, a dog in the dog house with its master tends to have more as they fret, if you must punish your dog, do it swiftly and make up quickly.

    That's excellant advice :)

Sadly my Baby Last Monday early hours, had a fit and never came out of it, hence having to be knocked out, thankfully that made him come out of it. And medication was given. But we had his brain scanned and he had a huge tumour :((vet was surprised he still standing) SO we had him put to sleep Friday :(.

He is so missed, I cry all the time.

He won't change his mind, when it's made up that's it, no changing it. It's so frustrating sometimes. I will have to live with it.

It just breaks my heart the amount of dogs in care. WOW

He did say on his way to bed that he is not ready yet, but will check for more puppies in the future. (He did go to his mummies for dinner this eve whilst I was working :embarasse) ..

They become our friends, just a dog to anyone else, but who else do you know that gives such unconditional love and friendship.
we still talk fondly of our king Charles Lady who died 2004, in fact just now when I went down to check on my springer after reading your loss.
heaven forbid when that time comes, in fact I hope I go first, sad I know but it hurts like hell when they go.
Cry your eyes, don't be ashamed.

Do you know, if I ever reach heaven, I think the first thing I would do is whistle my dogs, let them lay by my feet just once more
