A great big hug to you, darlyd.

The pain will lessen with time, although that's probably little comfort at the moment. Just be there for your husband if he needs to talk or a cuddle.

    RIP Sam.

Theres nothing you can say to ease your husbands pain, just be there and understand how he feels. There are sites for pet bereavement where you can add your dogs name to the Rainbow Bridge.

The only times I have ever seen my husband cry is when we have lost a dog.

    God bless xxxx

I am so, so sorry to hear of your loss. You have done the right thing for him so he can no longer be in pain.

Just be there for each other, that is the most important thing. I am sure you will but let the kids do something such as make a little headstone, it helps them deal with it easier. I know it did mine.

    Hugs at this sad time.

Rip Sam. :-(. Passed away peacefully in his bed at home.

Don't know how to take hubbies pain away. :(

Molly knew she gave him a kiss before vet took him away. We waiting for his ashes now to keep next to his ornament.

Oh Darlyd, I've been thinking of you, OH & Sam all day.

RIP wee one, run free over rainbow bridge.

He taking him for a walk, he was gone, ran off as usual tail wagging, looking back "Look at me Daddy". This is horrible.. :(

You'll be able to look back at this in the future and be glad that he enjoyed his last few hours and walk and went peacefully without suffering.

    Hugs to all xx

    Thank You.

We are struggling, hubbies in bits :(

Weirdest thing just happened, We have the long canvas picture of staffies, above our sideboard in dining room, it's been there for a year, It just fell off? Nail still in wall? And it slid behind the sideboard just showing the pic of a pure white staffy which looks like Sam? Hubbies saying it's Sam telling him he's done wrong. I said It's your Dad telling you he is with Sam?

    Freaked us out.

He really regrets what he done today, I keep telling him it was for the best, last thing we wanted was for him to suffer :(

I am so sorry Darlyd. been through this myself too. Tell your OH that the picture falling off the wall was a sign of approval and Sams way of saying goodbye till you meet again! Seen this happen when humans have passed away too! thier picture falls down or falls over.
Sam KNEW he had the best life a dog could have - does your OH really think that Sam would blame you for wanting to spare him pain? Staffies are incredibly loving dogs - and I think it was just Sam saying he will wait for you to join him (if that doesnt sound too morbid).
