Still hurting over losing Sam. He was one in a million. And so is Molly she is unique.

And that's exactly why we love them so much. They're all so different and unique.

You can never replace them, but you can grow to love a new pet and enjoy getting to know a new little character in time.

Maybe remind your OH that he doesn't have to take on a new dog if it doesn't feel right just yet. Sometimes you can somehow manage to pressurise yourself into saying yes - although I know that sounds weird! Of course, if it does feel right, then that's a different matter. (Mind you, you grow to love them anyway, even if you do end up taking on a new pet too soon afterwards. You know what it's like after a while of seeing those lovely big eyes looking up at you!)

Hope it all works out okay.

    Thank you guys :)

When we knew Sam was unwel, DH was talking about needing to get a puppy to help him recover, I was dead against it, now he has gone, out of curiosity I looked for puppies in our area and came across a family selling blue staffies, Well DH says he not ready, but rung the advert and is going to see them tomorrow. hmmm

    .. :(

Oh PLEASE dont buy a staffie puppy. Currently some 8000-9000 dogs are being put down every year, majority being staffies because of overbreeding by back street breeders just in it for money.

Please tell OH that the local rescues will be more than happy to find him a suitable companion for Molly and he will give another dog a chance of a new life, not create more business for these breeders.

All puppies are cute, it doesnt mean they will continue to be so when they grow up. With a rescue dog you will have a mature personality to judge, the dog will have been assessed and the rescue will know which dog will bond best for your family - some will probably have been in family situations and the rescue will know their behaviours. Molly can visit and meet the dogs before you decide. Bringing in a puppy may not be the best for you or Molly.

What area do you live in?

    You are so right.

OH was due to go see puppies this eve, but went in his lunch break, But I text him whilst he was there to not put any deposit down, Molly would not like it. plse plse..

He rung me when he left telling me he never put deposit down but by heck were they cute:)

I am going to drag him down RSPCA Wednesday (As I am not working) and go take a look at all them innocent staffie dogs.. I can't bring Molly down as she well I dunno how she will act with all them dogs there. May be embarrassing for us .

I'm so glad to hear that. I volunteer for an animal rescue and the one breed of dog which are abandoned or mistreated more than any other are Staffies. It's heartbreaking.

Thank you for taking hethmar's good advice. I hope that all goes well in your search.

Glad to hear the news - which area of the country are you in as its not just the RSPCA who has dogs for rehoming?

We are in Leicester. I have rung round many and they all require a home visit, and hundred's of questions. Which I have no problem with. But Hubby will :(.

I have my eye on 3 http://www.sbtrescue.com/ (Alphie, Diesel & Prince) .. Love them all But ya know ......

    Will let you know :)

So difficult to choose, they all look lovely!

Duke is said to adore the young child in his foster home too, Jet is supposed to be suitable with an older b.itch (maybe Mollie might get on with him), either Sadie or Stanley would have been perfect but I see that they are best rehomed together, Prince is adorable (great with the young child he lives with at the moment and generally okay with but a bit apprehensive of other dogs) - what a sad story he has.

I bet you'll want to bring them all home with you! ;-)

Any decent rescue will want a home visit and a lot of questions Im afraid. Its only so that the dog gets a safe forever home.
Just checked that site, some lovely dogs there, Id look for an older boy staff rather than another girl. They will do a home check and charge £10 for that to ensure you are genuinely interested.
