Dog having a seizure

It is awful I know. Our Lucy started having them when she was 15 - she used to lay by my chair in the office here and I thought at first she was just dreaming when I heard the kicking noise. But when it went on and I couldnt rouse her I realised it was a fit. When she did come round she would seem so anxious and worried, wandering around the house unable to settle.0

That's what they gave to our cat and it did help. I hope it works with your dog.
Very best of luck with the brain scan. Please let us know how he gets on, and thanks so much for the update.0

My staffy is epileptic. Summer is the worst time for him. He had his first fit as a pup and the vets didn't medicate him until he was 2. hes now 6 and a amazing dog. If you have any questions I'l be happy to answer. I hope your poor dog is ok its horrible when you can't do much to help. Hugs xx
Edited to add - Hes on phenobarb and has diazapam for when hes having a fit. x0

Diazipam (had at 10.15am) worked to stop his face twitching, but he still never went to sleep, just laid there but then shot up started crying, hubby carried him downstairs, put him down ready to go out, and he just peed on the rug , like niagra falls. sat down stairs for a while MIL came, he just did not settle, but 3.30pm his face started twitching again and he looked wired, so we gave him half a diazipam, and hubby just took him bk up to bed again to rest. He just txt me to say face stopped twitching and he is in and out of sleep. , like niagra falls. sat down stairs for a while MIL came, he just did not settle, but 3.30pm his face started twitching again and he looked wired, so we gave him half a diazipam, and hubby just took him bk up to bed again to rest. Scan is for tomorrow, dropping him off in morning picking him up early eve. Fingers crossed for that, as they have to knock him out. Scary. We just want him back......
Thank you so much for your kind words.

so sorry hun. my staffy had phenobarbitone and it DID help a bit. the diazepam which was supposed to bring her out - didnt, so the vet didnt prescribe it after a month or so.
It was just let her come out of it on her own. which she did, she just used to stagger a bit shake herself and come back to us. then she was herself until the next fit.
and there was no warning signs - nothing in particular caused them. she lived with the fits and I honestly believe that she had no memory of them. in between them she was our lovely Annie. I know she had a good quality of life apart from the fits - and if she didnt remember them then her life was as good as a dog could get!0

Hubby just left to drop him off to have his brain scan. Picking him up tonight.
We gave him diazipam last night as his face was just twitching, calmed it down, we closed our bedroom door to stop him pacing, and he slept from 11pm - 4.30am right through snoring the lot. First time since We picked him up Monday. His face still twitching this morning a little and his head keeps going to the left, and he still pee's like a girl, no number 2 though . .
 Will update you later.
fingers crossed... I want this scan to be clear, and I want this to be as simple as a parasite which is treatable. argh0

Good luck, darlyd. Even if it doesn't turn out to be a parasite, it may still be controllable.
Fingers crossed that all goes well.0

Update: It is certain he has a brain tumor, It's the size of an orange. Vet was surprised he is still standing . She told us that he has day's maybe week's if we are lucky, allowed us to take him home, upped his steroids and told us to give him diazipam when needed to help his restlessness. . He is lethargic, twitching has stopped, and he is banging into things, just not himself. But we are putting this down to the medication, If we didn't give it to him he would be normal, waggling of his tail, pulling our hands towards his privates (he is a perv), chasing his ball and jumping on the bed with his muddy paws . But without it he would have another seizure that he may not come out of (Like Early hours Monday morning where they had to knock him out). . Vet showed us the scan, And explained it's nearly growing into the part which controls Sam's breathing, And that is the last thing we want him to go through is lack of breathing, wow no way . So we have decided to have him put to sleep tomorrow (Friday) late morning at home in his bed. . So we have decided to have him put to sleep tomorrow (Friday) late morning at home in his bed.
How are we going to manage?
This is like a bad dream.0
